Agricultural Aide & Agricultural Technician: The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) is looking to hire inspectors for seasonal and

parttime work. CDFA operates 16 border stations throughout the state neighboring Arizona, Nevada, and Oregon. The Department’s mission is to prevent the

introduction of exotic invasive species from becoming established in the State of California. The inspector will be responsible for inspecting plant material and

different modes of transportation (automobiles, recreational vehicles, utility vehicles, and commercial trucks) for the presence of agricultural pests and for

compliance with plant quarantine regulations. The inspector will also be responsible to cooperatively work with other agencies related in the enforcement and

regulations of non-agricultural commodities. The stations operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week and the incumbent will be expected to work various shifts

throughout the day, weekends, and holidays. The work is mostly done outdoors in conditions of extreme weather and temperatures. The job entails standing for

long periods of time, bending, stooping, and lifting contraband up to 100 pounds. Positions starts at: Agricultural Aide salary starts at $11.37 per hour. Agricultural

Outside is an organization founded in 1955 by Quakers in the traditions of respect, nonviolence and social justice. We have been working inside California state

prisons since 1971. We provide evidence-based jail and prison rehabilitation programs, long and short term reentry support, Criminals and Gang Members

Anonymous meetings, family support through institution Visitor Centers, and advocacy for children of incarcerated parents through the "Bill of Rights for

Children of Incarcerated Parents”. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED. California Department of Motor Vehicles Class A or B license, with

passenger endorsement. A Motor Vehicles Class C license is required to transport passengers in a vehicle that is designed to carry less than 15 passengers.
