Free compost is available to the public on Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. It will be available at the Municipal Parking Lot #20, Muskoka Wharf, located at the corner of Steamship Bay Rd. and Muskoka Rd. #169 in Gravenhurst. The loose compost can be shoveled by the public into buckets, trucks or trailers. Residents must bring their own container, bags and a shovel. It’s first come, first served, while supplies last! After April 22, there will be more compost available to the public at the Gravenhurst landfill site on Beiers Rd. Muskoka’s Green Bin, Leaf and Yard Waste is processed into nutrient rich compost soil and offered at no charge to Muskoka residents for spring gardening projects.
