Community Family Violence Co-ordinatorFamily Works Waikato is seeking a highly motivated com-munity worker to co-ordinate the Maniapoto Family Vio-lence Network in the Waitomo area for 0.7 FTE (28 hours per week) for a fixed term contract ending June 30, 2012.

Apply your skills to this multi agency community collabora-tion to design, develop and implement an inter-agency approach to address issues of family violence in our community. Have you got local knowledge and networks within the Waitomo area?

You will have knowledge of the dynamics of family violence and an in-depth understanding of the effects of family violence on individuals, families and communities and a real passion for preventing family violence. Your proven ability to establish and maintain meaningful com-munity relationships and networks; advanced facilitation skills and knowledge of tikanga Maori that is consistent with local tikanga and kawa and their relevance to the prevention of family violence will bring real strength to this role.

An ability to develop and follow good systems and processes, together with high level administrative and computer skills are essential. Some previous work in the area of family violence would be an advantage.
