This field trip will interest the k-2 students because they are usually the ones who like to play more. They will be entertained by all the hands-on activities. Since Eco City is sized for small children it is more fitting for the younger grades.

History and GeographySmithsonian National Museum of Natural History Virtual Tour Natimnh.si.edu/panoramas/# Virtual tour of the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. Older students will be able to navigate the tour better than younger ones. They will enjoy it because they will be able to experience a museum without actually being there and without anyone getting in their way or rushing them. Students can move around the rooms, zoom in and out and are able to read some of the descriptions. It has areas for mammals, ocean creatures, dinosaurs, humans, butterflies and mummies.

1. Explain which field trip you are most excited about. I am most excited about the Lied Discovery Childrens Museum. My brother has been there before and he said he really enjoyed. I am a huge kid at heart, so to be able to go on a field trip like that with my students would be awesome. The Eco City exhibit interests me the most because I loved pretend play when I was young. My cousins and I loved playing restaurant, store and school.

2. What challenges did you run into during this assignment? One challenge I ran into was trying to find appropriate, fun and educational virtual field trips. Many that I found were just simple virtual tours and didnt seem very interesting. Another challenge was trying to find something specifically for a grade level. It was hard trying to find something easy to navigate and read for younger students.
