Difficulties adapting to college teaching styles and learning environments
Poor development of non-academic habits and skills resulted in poor preparation for self-directed learning
Early messaging, planning and exposure to college environments and expectations to foster a smoother transition
Establish structures and policies that set high expectations for high school students to assume responsibility for their own learning.
Lack of basic skills and of fluency in areas such as time management, writing ability, effective reading strategies, note-taking skills and test-taking strategies.
