(WHO??) Corliss Phillabaum, host ~ Six sessions, March 1 through April 5, 2018 1:00-3:00 pm All too often when a new opera is produced or a forgotten one revived, the music is praised, or tolerated, but the text (the libretto) takes the full brunt of the critics’ wrath. Corliss Phillabaum comes to the defense of these poor victims of the critics. We will take a look at the contributions of six librettists to the success of multiple operas and challenge the assumption that an opera libretto should be evaluated by the same criteria as the text of a non-musical play. Video selections from operas set to texts of these librettists will be shown to illustrate how the combination of words and music is essential if the full power of opera is to be realized. TOE NAIL TRIMMERS FOOT CLINIC Thursdays, Jan. 4 & 18; Feb. 1 & 15 at the Cedarburg Senior Center, from 9a.m. to 2p.m. Sign up at the Cedarburg Senior Center by calling 375-7644. Each ap-pointment consists of foot massage and thorough foot assessment plus the toenail trimming. The cost is $27 for a 30 minute session. TRANSPORTATION FOR SENIORS When non-emergency transportation is needed, leave the driving to our volunteer drivers. Van is available Monday - Friday 8 am to 4 pm. Call 375-7644, 24 hrs. in advance to schedule a ride. FREE RIDES TO PIGGLY WIGGLY!! Olsen’s Piggly Wiggly provides funding to Cedarburg adults 55+ to ride the sen-ior van to the Piggly Wiggly store on Mondays and Tues-days at no cost to the rider. Call for a pick-up. VOLUNTEER Van Drivers NEEDED! Drive the Cedarburg Senior Van. Pick up Cedarburg resi-dents and drive to their scheduled destination. Drivers needed Mon. thru Friday 8 to12 am and 12pm to 4 pm.

The Cedarburg Senior Center has a fully accessible platform lift at the en-trance of the Senior Center. Those in a wheelchair or those unable to walk up the steps can use the lift to enter the Senior Center.

AGING MASTERY PROGRAM The Green Bay Packers Foundation presented 213 organ-izations with grants on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017. Locally, on behalf of the Cedarburg Senior Center, Grafton Senior Center and The Aging Mastery Program, the Friends of the Port Washington Adult Community Senior Center were one of the recipients The Aging Mastery Program

® (AMP) was developed by

the National Council on Aging (NCOA) and has been suc-cessful at helping older adults build their own playbook for aging well. AMP is a fun, innovative, and person-centered education program that leads to improved health, stronger economic security, enhanced well-being, and increased societal participation .

This grant from the Green Bay Packers Foundation will

be utilized to create an impact within the community by

providing a cost effective course fee.

Watch for an Aging Mastery Program at the Cedarburg

Senior Center in Fall of 2018 or Spring 2019.
