Day 01 : Arrive Cochin airport Arrive Cochin airport and meet & assist by our company representative and transfer to the hotel for check-in. Kochi (also known as Cochin) is a city in southwest India's coastal Kerala state. It has been a port since 1341, when a flood carved out its harbor and opened it to Arab, Chinese and European merchants. Sites reflecting those influences include Fort Kochi, a settlement with tiled colonial bungalows and diverse houses of worship. Cantilevered Chinese fishing nets, typical of Kochi, have been in use for centuries.

Later proceed for a half day guided tour in Cochin visiting Jewish Synagogue, Dutch Palace, ST. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Cathedral, Maritime Museum and Chinese Fishing Nets. Evening witness Kathakali Dance Show Dinner and overnight at the hotel

Day 02 : Cochin - – Thekkady (150 Kms / 04 hours drive)

Post breakfast, drive to Thekkady; The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is spread across 777 km2 (300 sq mi), of which 360 km2 (140 sq mi) is thick evergreen forest. The wildlife sanctuary was declared a tiger reserve in 1978. The splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam across the Periyar River adds to the charm of the park. The greatest attractions of Periyar are the herds of wild elephants, deer and bison that come down to drink in the lake. The sanctuary can be accessed through a trekking, boating or jeep safari. Later visit Spice plantations Enter Kumily and the intoxicating aroma of cloves, nutmeg, pepper, cinnamon or cardamom takes over. The industrial town is the gateway to Thekkady and hosts some of the finest spice plantations in the country.

Evening watch KADATHANADAN KALARI

Kalaripayattu-the oldest of martial arts-is a gift to the modern world and known as the mother of all martial arts. Kalaripayattu originated in ancient south India. Kung-fu, popularized by the monks of the shaoline temple traces its ancestry to Bodhi Dharma-an Indian Buddhist monk and Kalaripayattu master.

Day 03 : Thekkady – Alleppey

Early in the morning before breakfast; leave for a wildlife viewing to the sanctuary on lake Periyar by boat cruise. One can see herds of elephants grazing near the edges of the shoreline. Deer, sambar, gaur and wild boars can be seen flocking around the place at regular intervals. A majority of the wildlife activity in the area can be viewed .. Darters, egrets and kingfishers can be seen flocking around the withered trees that rise out of the lake. It is a surreal experience that is highly recommended .

Return back to the hotel and have breakfast and drive to Alleppey ( 4 hrs ) to board Houseboat for overnight stay Travelling in a houseboat in Alleppey is not just a matter of exquisite window views. It is an enchanting experience in itself. The cool breeze, the occasional migratory birds, and seasonal rains make the boat ride a unique experience that you can savour forever.
