• First-time visitor perspective– Data collected from the sidewalk or car – a sign might be somewhere but

not visible enough to visitors or new students

• Approximately 230 signs; 490+ pieces of information– Types of signs

Welcome & Visitors Information Signs

• Three out of six entrances to main campus lack welcome/visitors information signs– Central FL Blvd.– Gemini Blvd. Orion Dr.– Orion Dr.

• Research Pkwy./Libra Dr. entrance– There is not a follow-through sign at Libra Dr. and

Gemini Blvd. to the welcome/VI sign by Libra Dr./Neptune Dr.

Key Buildings – Signs Across Campus

• Library– Five signs in the same area– One sign in the wrong

direction– Nothing in the southeast

and northwest• Student Union

– There is only one sign on the perimeter main entrances -Alafaya/Centaurus W.

• Millican Hall– Only three

“Administration” signs, all in the southwest

– Millican Hall (ID) vs. Administration (signs)

• Bookstore– Only four signs– No signs in main entrances

except for Alafaya/Centaurus W.

• Well identified in terms of types of permits, i.e., students, faculty, reserved

• No indication on what buildings the lot is better for

• No direction sign to meters
