LightWorksIslaVista,isalight-basedpublicartsfestival,takingplacefromMay20-21,2016indowntownIslaVista,CA.IslaVistaisthedenselypopulatedcollegecommunityof21,000inhabitantslocatedalongthebeautifulcentralcoast,adjacenttothecampusofUniversityofCalifornia,SantaBarbara.

SelectedartistsacrossCaliforniahavebeencommissionedtocreatetemporaryoutdoorartworksdesignedtotransformthecentralparksofIslaVistaintoilluminatedspacesforart,performance,andeveningengagementbythecommunity.Artistswillemploylight-emittingtechnologiesasamediuminthecreationofexperimentalperformance,site-specificinstallation,free-standingsculptureand/orpublicart(ranginginscaleandscope)areencouragedtoapply.Light-emittingtechnologiesmayincludebutarenotlimitedtoLED,projections,digital,andsurface/screen-basedworks.
