PROJECTS

Ongoing

1. Nature4Cities (Horizon 2020) Starts Dec. 2016 (4 years). Total budget: EUR 7.5 million.

Nature4Cities concept is based on: (1) the building of a NBS knowledge base and associated integrated analysis framework, (2) the development of a holistic assessment methodology, (3) the adaptation of existing technologies for urban data management and citizens’ participatory engagement, and (4) the co-development and demonstration with partner cities (Città Metropolitana Di Milano (IT), Çankaya (TR), Szeged (HU), Alcala de Henares (ES)). The N4C consortium is drawn from 9 countries taking a pro-active part in the EU dynamics of R&D&I, at the crossing of urban green infrastructure planning and construction sector, environmental assessment, social sciences, innovation management and Information and Communication Technology supporting tools.

METU group is responsible for measuring societal acceptance of nature based solutions

2. Shape-Energy (Horizon 2020) Starts Feb. 2017 (2 years). Total budget: EUR 2 million.

SHAPE-ENERGY aims to develop Europe’s expertise in using and applying energy-SSH. Our innovative Platform will unite those who ‘demand’ energy research, because they can use it to develop practical initiatives, with those who ‘supply’ that research. Each of our Platform activities (below) will create space for these two groups to meet and collaborate in ‘shaping’ the European energy agenda. This will build deep and shared understanding of what is needed and what is possible, as well as stretching their collective ambition.

METU group is responsible for the economics, sociology, and psychology areas for a platform for energy scholars in social sciences.
