Five Hundred: (1 Bat, 1 Softball) One batter and the rest of the group are in the outfield. The batter hits fly balls to the students standing in the outfield. The object of the game is to see who can get 500 points. The student who scores 500 points becomes the new batter.

Explain the scoring of the game Five Hundred. If a student catches a ball in the air, it is worth 100 points. Catching a grounder that bounces once is worth 75 points. Catching a ball that bounces two times is worth 50 points. All other grounders are worth 25 points. The fielder must score exactly 500 points or points get subtracted. If there is an error points are subtracted.

Explain the purpose of the two drills. Students should be safe in regards to hitting, and throwing. Students should remain on task and do what is required at the drill/activity.

Students are to work cooperatively amongst themselves providing positive feedback to one another.

The more skilled students can provide instructional feedback to students who are having trouble with particular tasks or skills.
