B. Professional Information:

1- Program Aims: The aim of this program is to:

1.1. Acquire the basic knowledge in the field sound physics, acoustics, psychoacoustics, and

basic medical sciences that relate to otolaryngology.

1.2. Understand the pathophysiology & symptomatology of hearing & equilibrium disorders.

1.3 . Acquire the ability to perform, analyze & interpret the results of different diagnostic

techniques implemented in the field of audiology.

1.4. Acquire the ability to design, apply & revise a rehabilitative program specific to each

patient.

1.5. Prepare the candidate to be a medical audiologist committed to community service,

This course will provide an opportunity for participants to establish or advance their understanding of

research through critical exploration of research language, ethics, and approaches. The course

introduces the language of research, ethical principles and challenges, and the elements of the research

process within quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods approaches. Participants will use these

theoretical underpinnings to begin to critically review literature relevant to Audiology and determine

how research findings are useful in forming their understanding of their work, social, local and global

environment.

This course includes: Head & neck (muscles, vessels, nerves, glands, upper respiratory and digestive

tracts including nasal cavity; frame work of walls, paranasal sinuses, palate; components, muscles,

neurovascular supply oral cavity & tongue; neurovascular supply and lymphatic drainage, pharynx,

larynx and ear; frame work, neurovascular supply, lymphatic drainage, mechanisms of phonation,

deglutition and hearing). Central Nervous System (Spinal cord, brain stem, cerebellum, diencephalons,

cerebrum, basal ganglia, internal capsule, white matter, meninges, C.S.F. & ventricular system, blood

Course Aims: This program covers physical principles in acoustics, sound wave phenomena;

propagation, diffraction, diffraction reverberation, filters, absorption, sound field environment,

sound measurements; decibel, octave notations, sound level meters, acoustical treatment of

listening environments.

Course Aims: This course covers the anatomy of head & neck (muscles, vessels, nerves, glands,

upper respiratory and digestive tracts including nasal cavity; frame work of walls, paranasal sinuses,

palate; components, muscles, neurovascular supply oral cavity & tongue; neurovascular supply and

lymphatic drainage, pharynx, larynx and ear; frame work, neurovascular supply, lymphatic drainage,

mechanisms of phonation, deglutition and hearing). Central Nervous System (Spinal cord, brain stem,

cerebellum, diencephalons, cerebrum, basal ganglia, internal capsule, white matter, meninges, C.S.F. &

ventricular system, blood supply .
