  • Elective Classes – Pick ONE elective option only.Please select either PERFORMING ARTS or EXPLORATORY 8 by checking one box below. If you select

    Performing Arts, select the course you prefer. Students in Orchestra and Band may be subject to a $65 per

    semester instrument rental fee. Students will be placed into these courses based on preference and space

    available. If no space is available in our Exploratory program, students will be placed in a music course.

    Students who qualify for Reading or Math intervention will be placed in to a support class rather than a

    PERFORMING ARTS or EXPLORATORY elective.

    Students will be placed in the appropriate music class by

    the music teacher. Students may audition into Concert

    Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, or Concert Band

    with permission from the teacher.

    EXPLORATORY 8

    Students in this program will take one semester of VISUAL

    ART and one semester of GATEWAY TO TECHNOLOGY.

    If no space is available in the Exploratory program, I would

    prefer to take (circle one):

    Admission based on previous class grades, SBA, GRADE and GMADE assessment scores

    Notification by June 1

    Please note that space is limited in Honors courses

    New students will take two required tests as part of enrollment process (GRADE and GMADE)

  • All 8th grade students enrolled in Earth Science next year will have the opportunity to request a designation for Honors Earth Science to appear on their official school records.

    Requirements for the Honors designation will include additional and/or alternate assessment items, projects, and assignments.

    Specific details of the Honors option will be communicated to students and parents no later than September 30th of each school year.

    Although students do not need to apply for Honors Earth Science, they will need to inform their teacher of their intent to complete the Honors option within one week of receiving the information.

  • Complete non-resident enrollment forms available online at www.upsd83.org by selecting the Student Registration tab and then 2020-2021 Registration Forms

    Obtain and complete a “Choice Transfer Release” request from your home district

    UPSD will begin accepting applications on or after April 14, 2020

    This information is only for students who live outside UPSD boundaries and wish to attend CJHS next year
