DSABandstraveledtoSantaFe,NewMexicothisyeartoperformacollaborativeconcertwithCapitolHighSchool,tobenefittheirmusicdepartment.Becauseofinterestsparkedinpartbythistrip,SantaFePublicSchoolsisplanningtoopenanartsprogramsimilartoDSAinthecomingyears.

OnthistriptheWindEnsemblealsoperformedattheColoradoSchoolfortheDeafandBlindandattheColoradoMusicEducatorsAssociationConference.

Bandswillgraduate16seniorsthisyear,oneaBoettcherScholar–allofthemgoingontotremendouscollegesallacrossthenationandlocally.TheyhaveacombinedDSAexperienceof94yearsanddecidedthatthisyearthethemeofthedepartmentshouldbeBALANCE.

DuringLeader’sConcert1‐theSeniorShowcase–8outof16instrumentalbandmajorsdecidedtosinginsteadofperformontheirinstruments.Thisshowscourageandcreativeness–whoknewBandshadsomanytalentedsingers.
