BRICS and the CHINA GOLD memes as Crime Scene
Ideas that have sprouted up round the theme of theBRICSalliance of nations have begun to take
on the shape of an archetypal struggle between opposing forces of east vswest, good and evil, black and white.
When applied to current speculations in the gold blogosphere, this tendency to embellish a core
of fact with a grand superstructure of speculative attributes is nothing newbut it happens to be
meme de jour for pundits tasked with giving forlorn metallists some cause for optimism in an
otherwise bleak season of despair.
While debunking some of these notions may be valuable in itself, here our purpose is mostly to
understand the reasons these distortions are employed, and on behalf of who or what.
The specific focus is how memes are used in the precious metals community to subscribe itsmembers to a point of view which may be contrary to their interests. But first off what must bementioned is the 'western-centric' viewpoint that pervades ALL such discussions. One so deeply
rooted that its presence is s not even recognized by the participants!
People from the 'developed' west having been able to think of themselves and their countries as
at the center of things for so long now, they are accustomed to look out at the rest of the worldcareless of their potential to be entirely ignorant of what is really out there. They simply assume
that the perceptual tools given them as citizens of a first world are in all ways adequate to
understand and interpret the behavior and motives of the other world outside their glass cages.
In a sense, this makes them"globalist"in essence, no matter the gloss of anti-globalist
identity they may espouse! This unrecognized contradiction is of key importance to the forceswhich seek to bamboozle with their distorted narratives, but well leave that factor alone for the
moment! These glass cages of perception are supplied by a mediasphere - msm or alternative,
matters not a bit - which uses subtle cues to discourage and/or eliminate critical thinking.
This gap in perceptual awareness is a fairly logical state of affairs - the 'others' from outside thewest for the longest while have been seen as looking in - with the desire to become like
westerners... in wealth, social mobility or prestige... and therefore westerners sense of identity,

and the kind of society that they wish for themselves is imagined to have a universal appeal and
application. One could well argue that this axis of western-centricism has in fact been a NEW
WORLD ORDER in operation for a considerable time now. Chatter about a newer, global NOWis merely a platform update in this sensewhich EVERYBODY in the west is basically on
board withwhether they know it or not!
Such is the case with the newly minted "China to the Rescue" theme which dominates the
gold/silver blogosphere these days. A constant barrage of noise about "Shanghai will change the
shape of the market" has given rise to popular analysts who pore over and announce each dailywithdrawal number from the SGE as if they are portents from the gods... assigning huge
significance to their speculations on whether the import numbers for the year will be x number of
tonnes... while counting down the days to when vaults in the west are empty of supply!
Behind this frenzied speculation lies the idea that China soonpulls the plugon the evil western
banksters - who will be powerless to stop prices from exploding upwardsto the relief of
western metal holders! All of this fancy is of course built upon on the simple fact that China is
buying gold in great quantitybut for what purpose we ask?
Current speculations about the shape of future power blocs and economic alliances suffer notableshortcomings in the way that they view the state - in general, as well as particular "states" - as
something static, fully developed, monolithic, and detached from historical and social contexts.
This is as true of the states which operate in the present moment as it is of those which existed inthe far past.
Just as we mentioned the need to strip away the western-centric gaze when viewing the nature ofour world, it is equally necessary to strip out the western-made narratives that interpret the nature
of states current and absent, in order to make sense of geo-political developments. In the world
o gold, the functional narratives are anchored in the political economy of theorists whose view ofthe state is grounded in the project founded by Adam Smitha man tasked by his financialbackers with legitimizing their aspirations to supplant the elites of C18th and subsume the
control of nation states by so doing!
Most if not all of the history of this planet subsequent to Smiths introduction of the theology of
market forces is simply the record of the progress of that same newly risen elite in extending
their control over every part of it. Using the vectors of communism, fascism, or neo-liberal
ideology to impose an iron grip over economies east and west, north and south has been
extremely effective
now we are witness to the stage by which it is hoped to consolidate these initial successes with a
follow-up phase in which national sovereignties and identities are replaced with a corporatist-
controlled super-national allegiance.
In keeping with the long-ago formulated Rosicrucian style revelation of the method, this stage
is characterized by the apparently open announcement of a GLOBALIST project with theancillary ANTI-GLOBALIST dialectical opposite numberfrom which basket of choices the
punters are expected to make their free selection of team to support.

In the case of our specific focus, the world 0 gold, this facile set up has produced the remarkable
spectacle of those many denizens of the western democracies whose public pronouncements of
disdain for their own governments, in favor of fealty to eastern powers gives the impression ofa repeat of the kind of commie fellow travelertype of dupe by which the Bolsheviks gained an
army of sympathizers with which to undermine their enemies in the west!
It should be well known to all by now that the mainstream media, as well as the bulk of the
alternative media, are attempting to portray a geopolitical conflict featuring the Anglo-American
bankers & NATO on one side and the BRICS bankers & militaries on the other. The bringsforward an obvious question: if China and their BRICS allies are really acting in opposition to
the Western Establishment, why are they pointing to the Western globalist institutions as the
solution to the worlds ills?http://redefininggod.com/2014/11/chinas-complicity-in-building-the-

Those critical thinking skills by which anyone of average intelligence might discern something
slightly out of whack with the setup I have described seem to have disappeared with the end of
the last millennium, replaced with eager willingness to buy into conspiracy theories which playhavoc with common sense. The one under examination here- a geopolitical passion play of
supposedly opposing forceshas been anointed by its shadowy backers as the means ofensnaring those in the west smart enough to challenge mainstream consensus narratives - but
apparently not smart enough to avoid their corresponding alternative media equivalents! Its
due to my latent respect for anyone with enough sense to hold physical metals that I have
embarked on this task of rescuing those same folk from being tricked into becoming dupes of thesame moneypower that their instincts have directed them to escape from the clutches of!
The readers indulgence and forgiveness is requested, therefore, if we shiftthe emphasis of thisseries from light-hearted repartee about the follies of goldbug self-deceptions to a more serious
grounding in the historical background of the wider deceptions of the moment. Its my ultimatepurpose here to make a tiny opening in the awareness of the inmates of my former homelandsthrough which can enter the necessary shards of survival instinct sufficient to save them from
extinction. Is this not a worthy and noble enough cause I asks you, to put up with some tougher
than usual reading?
In this regard, I must express my appreciation to Bron Sucheki of western Australias Perth Mint,
for bringing to my belated attention an insight re the cultural doors of perception as these relateto language tools and the dynamics of reader/writer interaction. This extract he linked recently
from another blog
English is a writer-responsible language. That means it is the responsibility of the writer to makesure the message is understood. Writing is clear, direct and unambiguous. A good writer
assumes no or little background knowledge on the part of the reader.
Korean, Chinese, and Japanese are reader-responsible languages. That means the reader is
responsible for deciphering the message, which is often not stated explicitly. For an Americanwho is expecting direct and explicit information, this style can be very confusing. Because the
writer is not responsible for the message, there is little use of sign posting and transitional

phrases in the writing. These are phrases such as on the other hand; secondly; as you can see;
therefore; which are used in writer-responsible cultures to lead the reader through the writers
thought process. Without these phrases, the writing may seem choppy and disconnected to an
American reader.http://www.callearning.com/blog/2011/01/who-is-responsible-for-the-

has given me critical insight into the hindrances to communication I experienced in
previously attempting to convey to western audiences the theme I am examining here. In the
past, when I noticed that reader comments seemed to focus almost exclusively on complaintsabout the style of my writing, rather than the content thereof I after a while began to believe
that this was simply a ploy to try and dismiss the message delivered, by those who found it
uncomfortable to consider. Although I did attempt to make some alterations to the way I
conveyed that message, there was no real let up to the barrage of complaints about style ratherthan substance, so I stopped writing altogether for a while.
Gradually, I have been able to drill deeper into the matter - and after deciding that it would be
counter to my aims to further compromise on the way I choose write, have become comfortablein the recognition that my years spent living outside the western landscombined with a
longstanding appreciation for cultural perspectives foreign to my native onehave given me the
means to think and write in a unique way tha t ideally serves the content of what I have
chosen to write about. It will remain, therefore, the [western] readers responsibility to
overcome built-in impediments to their comprehension of the message here.not the other way
around friends!
The choice is simple enoughat any time to simply stop readingand return to normalor
pursue new ways of seeing the world in order to increase ones chances of making correctdecisions. I can think of no more important choice than this one for those in the west who wish to
be survivors of the coming storm. A cultural re-programming is going to prove critical to theirchanceswhether they know it or not!
Using English as the language to convey notions which are outside the scope and character of
native speaking English[or evenby extension, Indo-European]speakers is a double-edgedsword; while it makes it possible for such readers to encounter the ideas expressed
It also fallaciously encourages them to believe that they understand those ideas by default,
therefore discouraging rather than encouraging the effort to add to ones personal tool box new
ways of seeing.
Now back to our regular programming!
In order to delve into this more serious angle of approach to our topic, a handy example can befound in the news of the moment from the boundaries regions of Eurasia where an ages-old
fault line between civilizations and religions of the region is being stoked for war once again by
willing hands. Here, where the very notion of coinage first began, and the use of precious metalsas currency was initiated, we witness intense conflict on virtually all sidesto the north, in
Ukraine, south, in Syria, East in Iraq.

While most reportage of these conflicts is framed in terms ofPipelinestanenergy related issuesvia analysis that seeks to explain the motives of the major players via their schemes for
construction of gas and oil conduits, the deeper substratum of conflict remains poorly
understood.
Here the boundaries between Rome and Persia, then Christendom and Islam, and later, European
West and Turco-Mongol East were formed and consolidated. Most if not all of the area currentlyunder conflict was at various times located on different sides of those boundaries. Christianized
areas became Islamized, and vis versa, Turkish territories were lost to European reconquest ,
vassals states and territories changed hands between Rome and Persia, Crusader and Saracenmany times over.
Recent interludes of secular rule in this Eurasian border zone might have blunted the impact ofthese longstanding fault lines, but the recent trend towards traditional religious expressions(post-
Communist Russia and post-Kemalist Turkey, post-Baathist Syria&Iraq)has returned them tosharp focus again. Expansionist ambitions on the part of former Imperial powers have been
exploited by third party players with their own agendas for the region, and a dangerous game ofbrinkmanship has replaced diplomatic niceties.
Finally, the latent forces of ethnic nationalism have been let loose to stir up waters already
troubled by religious controversies. Aspirations of Kurds for a national homeland, Ukrainian
anti-Russian sentiment, underwriting of pan-Turkic motifs by governments hungry for regional
influence are all part of the tensions being fomented. And its of no small consequence that theboundaries of many of the countries within this zone of conflict are artificial constructs created
by the stroke of western imperial powers pens rather than any coherent natural boundaries.
These rippling tides of fortune have created many shatter zones in this region[Shatter zones are
found wherever the expansion of states, empires, slave-trading, and wars, as well as natural
disasters, have driven large numbers of people to seek refuge in out-of-the-way places]: themixture of ethnicities, religions, and divergent cultural traditions in a relatively small space has
made it possible for people to learn to coexist successfully together in diversity, but also to
maintain their own distinct relatedness. This in turn has made possible long interludes of peaceand relative prosperityall too often broken by intervals of bloody conquest and war.

Now that Syria and Ukrania have been quite deliberately plunged into civil war, the previous
surface homogeneity of a population composed of Armenians, Kurds, Turks, Circassians, Arab
Christians, Arab Sunnis, Arab Shias, Alawites and Druze, Yazidis and Sabeans[Serbs, PolesTatars, Slavs, Rus and Jews in the later case] has been shattered. In its place are the schemes of
hegemonist fortune seekers and agents of far off powers.
Why does all this matter to the gold and silver holder, and how
have the various themes in play here been parlayed by the
pundit class into a persian carpet of fanciful speculations on
which to fly far away from facticity?
To answer those questions one needs take up the tools of the archeologist digging down into
the debris of centuries that conceal this regions vital role in establishing the financial forms ofoppression which bedevil us in the present.
Its essential to understand that the timelines which place this region at the nexus of world powerand influence are far longer than that recent interval in which the western world has been
dominant in global trade and politics. With the denouement of the present western debt/usuryfinancial systems crisis coming into focus, its increasingly clear that the Eurasian zone stands to
return to its place of central importance.
Examination of that process of back to the future is the bottom-line purpose of this series.
Westerners are in desperate need of comprehending what this seminal shift of global power and
influence will mean for them!
Earlier in this post I spoke of the way that states and statecraft havebeen misperceived due to
the faulty lens of western-centric thinking being unknowingly applied to every case study pastand present. We can find antidote to this misperception only via reexamination of the topic withdifferent choice of lens. Starting with the example of societies from archaic Asia Minor where
the issue of gold/silver currencies first began the cautionary tale of Lydia and storied King
Croesus seems a good point of departure
Letsproceed on the journey!
