MAKING AN EYE LOOP

Page 11: VICKY BELL

Thread a bead onto a head pin or eye pin.

1/4 inch (6.35 mm) length of wire above the bead.

Page 12: VICKY BELL

Using round nose pliers, bend the top of the head pin or eye pin at a right angle.

Page 13: VICKY BELL

Grasp one end of the wire between the pliers' jaws.

Page 14: VICKY BELL

Rotate the pliers toward the bend of the wire, making a half loop.

Page 15: VICKY BELL

Reposition the pliers in the loop and continue to rotate the wire to form a centered circle above the bead.

CHARM BRACELET

• Charms go back as far as the Neolithic era where man would pick up an unusual stone or piece of wood and carry it with him to ward off his enemies. Elaborate jewellery made of precious stones and metals emerged during the age of the Egyptian Pharaohs. It was during this time that the first recognizable charm bracelets and necklaces first appeared.
