Guest speaker for the April

The Boys and Girls Club of

Greater Waterbury.

Invitations have been sent for

the WARC Annual Wine Tasting

Fundraiser where UNICO of

Waterbury will be recognized

for our service. The event

takes place on Thursday, May

9th at NEW Aria Banquet

Facility in Prospect. Ticket

price is $35. Please support

this event and join in the

celebration!

I write this note with a heavy

heart as my mind is consumed

by the images and details of

Monday’s horrific bombing in

Boston at the Marathon. With

so many injured/killed it’s

hard to concentrate on much

as I try to understand what

type of person would want to

invoke such harm on innocent

people. I’m sure you’re all

feeling the same way as well

and join me in praying for

those affected by this terrible

event.

In addition, there have been

so many health issues going

on with our members—

including me. I am undergoing

surgery for Thyroid Removal

the beginning of May but hope

to be ready-to-go by our

Scholarship Dinner!!!

Please keep all those suffering

from illness or recuperating

from surgery —including

Richard Marano, Sam Botte

and Phil Maiorano—in your

prayers. Let’s hope the

Spring brings us much

needed peace and

sunshine!

Okay—on to the matter at

hand. It’s coming time to

the “end of the UNICO year”

with the new-slate of

officers being submitted,

plans are set for our

scholarship dinner and our

golf tournament.

There’s still time to get

involved…..we had to NOT

participate in a few events

due to lack of interest/

participation of our

members. We can’t let this

happen. Nothing is worse

than a complacent

Chapter—we need to shake

th ings up and get

motivated. It’s time for YOU

to make that happen!!!

special event. In the

$1,000 which can easily be

accomplished if we sell only

no-brainer, no-work way to

earn money for our local

projects.
