Report Highlights – Q4 2009Wattpad mobile usage continued to grow rapidly. Subscribers now come from 600mobile operators in more than 160 countries with cumulative downloads of over 5

million.The combination of the four major English speaking countries - US, UK, Canada andAustralia - contributed to almost half of the total ebook consumption in Q4. Followed byVietnamese and Bahasa Indonesia. US was the global leader in total ebookconsumption (34%).

Java devices remained the most popular in mobile ebook consumption. In particular,

usage of Java devices in Asia experienced a 75% quarter to quarter growth, evenfaster than the iPhones growth in English speaking countries (21% quarter to quarter).

Android was the fastest growing segment among all mobile devices in ebookconsumption. Though the usage was relatively small compared to other devices,Android was growing at a pace of 260% quarter to quarter.

English speaking countries representalmost half of the ebook consumption inQ4, with Vietnamese at 30% andIndonesian at 8%

Among all English speaking countries,US users read the most ebooks (69%),followed by UK (13%), Canada (8%)and Australia (6%).

Ebook Consumption by Language (2)

In relative terms, users from English speaking countries tend to consume more ebooks on

PC than via mobile devices. In total, they contributed to 54% of PC ebook consumption,while only contributed to 43% of mobile ebooks consumption.

US consumed the most ebooks in total (34%), followed by Vietnam, Indonesia (chart not shown)

Mobile Device Usage

Java devices represent almost 60% oftotal mobile usage, iPhones at 35%,BlackBerry and Android phones represent5% in total (chart not shown).

Java devices were most popular in Asia.This is can be attributed to higher price ofSmartphone devices in the region.

iPhone was most popular in English speakingcountries. Among all, US represents 74% of

iPhone ebook consumption, followed byCanada at 11%, Australia at 4% and UK at 3%.

61% of iPhone users were on WiFi while 39%were connected through mobile operatornetworks.

Ebook consumption continued to experience rapid growth with a quarterly growth rate inexcess of 50%.

Mobile consumption grew slightly faster than the PC consumption, albeit marginally. Thiscould be due to the strong adoption of mobile in all regions.

Android devices were the fastest growing at 260%, followed by Java devices at 75%,iPhone at 21% and BlackBerry devices remained flat.
