What types of fireworks are there?There are different firework names like 'peony' and 'horsetail'.

Rockets go high up in the sky.

The cakes and candles go a little way up.

Catherine wheels and the shaped fountains stay on the ground. A

few fireworks are quiet or even silent.

Lots are loud and make noises like 'whizz', 'pop', 'bang' and 'fizz'!

Garden fireworks are the ones used at home.

Fireworks Fireworks Night

Fireworks Night is celebrated on the 5th of November, but fireworks are also set off on other days over October and November. People go to watch fireworks displays or light their own at home. Some displays have music.

There are songs about fireworks, like 'Firework' by Katy Perry.

When do people use fireworks?

Fireworks were invented in China.

The first known fireworks in England were used in 1486.

Fireworks are used at festivals, New Year, Diwali and birthday celebrations.
