On the menu click on “Place an order”

To Place An Order Click “Place an order”

STEP 2: START A NEW ORDER

Click on “Start a New Order” You can also continue building an order that you started before. Order builder will be addressed further on in the order manual if you want to learn more about Order Builder now go to the index and click on “Order Builder”.

STEP 3: CHOOSE ORDERING METHOD If you know your ISBN’s for easy order entry click on “Enter ISBN’s”

GO TO EASY ENTRY MODE NOW

STEP 4: ENTER ORDER

Enter the ISBN, Quantity and hit enter on your keyboard or click on add. You can enter a 10 digit or 13 digit ISBN.

Once you add the title to your order you will be able to view the titles/quantities you selected.

CHOOSE THE SHIP TO ACCOUNT:

This is the check out page. First you need to choose the account the shipment is to be delivered to. Drop down the ship to box and make your selection

is informational text only and will not be acted upon by Random House Customer Service.

BACKORDER INSTRUCTIONS:The options available for cancelling line items on your order. The default option from your account profile will automatically populate for example this customer elected to backorder. You can choose to cancel all backorders by selecting a cancel by date, or select any of the other three options as noted below

ORDER TYPE:There are four order types to choose from.

1. Standard Order – This is a regular backlist order2. New Title Order – Choose this type of order for future on sale titles3. Author Appearance – If you are having an author appearance you can choose this

order type. Standard shipping applies. For rush author appearance orders, contact Customer Service. You will need to enter the event date, name of the person placing the order and a contact phone number. This will be needed so Customer Service can confirm you have received the shipment.

4. Promotion Order – If you are placing a promo order for special terms you must enter the promotion code example RHP012. By doing this the promotion terms will be applied when you select the “check price and availability” button before you place the order.

If you choose Author Appearance you must indicate the event date, the person placing the order and the phone number

For Promotion Order you will need to enter the promo code for example RHP012

DATED ORDER:If you want this order delivered 10 business days or more in the future you can click on dated order where you will be prompted to enter a deliver on date.

PAY BY CREDIT CARD:You can elect to pay for this order with a credit card by clicking on “pay by Credit Card”. The credit card information will need to be filled out. The bill to address must match the bill to address on the credit card. The bill too address of your account will automatically default in and can be changed to match the bill to address on the credit card you are using. All of the required fields are indicated with a red *.

CHECK PRICING AND AVAILABILITY:Click on the check pricing and availability for discount, pricing and availability information. Once complete click on “Place Order”. The order will be posted in the RH Order System. You will receive a purchase order confirmation via email.

NOTE: Until you click on place order you can go “back” and add to the order.

PART II - OTHER OPTIONS FOR PLACING ORDERS

STEP 1: Title Search

Click on “Select Titles” Then click on “Advanced”

If you want to search for titles and only want see active titles and filter out restricted market, prepacks and point of sales materials you can make selections from the options below.

STEP 2: Search by keyword (Title / Author /ISBN)

Here you can enter in a keyword and any title that has that word in it will display. For example enter “birds”. The result was 72 titles that had the word bird in the title description.

STEP 3: Set Fields for Title Detail Once you have the list of titles you can “set fields”. There is a standard view, Extended View 1 (15 fields of information), Extended View 2 (50 fields of information) or the Wide Format (with cover image)

Once you have your search screen up ,by clicking on the column heading you can sort to help you find the title you are looking for.

Note: At the bottom of the screen you will see the Order Totals number of items and number of units.

Add in your order quantities

To go to the next page click on the arrow

Once you have your order complete you can click on “SHOW ALL ITEMS IN ORDER” From here you could click on export and your order would display in an excel spreadsheet. You can also change the quantities on the order. Once you are complete click on “close”.

If your order is complete click on “checkout” if you want to continue to search for other titles click on “Title Search”

STEP 4: PASTE ORDER

If you have a list of ISBN’s and the order quantity you can cut and paste your order. Click on “Paste Order”.

Option to click on paste ISBN only or ISBN and Quantity

After you paste your order click on “GO”. This is the preview screen of the cut and paste that you just did. Options to display all items, valid items or invalid items. Once you have completed your review click on “Import”

A confirmation pop up will display indicating this list has been added to a special list that you can reselect by clicking on “Reselect My Pasted ISBN List” button on the ‘Select Titles tab.

STEP 5 – ADVANCED SEARCH

There are many ways to search in advanced search. When using the options in “advance search”, when your search is complete click on the clear button before you enter your next request.

1. By ISBN – you can cut and paste from a list and you can preserve the ISBN sequence in which you entered/pasted.

2. By Title – here you can search the full-title field like we did in Keyword search or your can “Match the start of a title”. For example if you selected “Search the full-title field” and entered “My Life” a list would display of any title that had “my life” in it. However if you select “Match start of title” and enter “My Life” you would only receive a list of titles that start with “My Life”

3. By Author 4. On Sale Date – by putting in an on sale date example 09/15/2009 all of the new

titles in that on sale date group will be displayed.5. Season or Span - this search will display a list of all titles to be published in a

span. There are 3 spans each year, Spring, Summer and Fall6. If you want to select a Season or Span and only want to see for example Movie

Tie-Ins Only, enter the span and click on “Movie Tie-ins Only”.

7. Search by Publisher8. Search by Imprint – if you know the publisher you are looking for enter the

publisher in “Look For” and click on “find/next”9. Search by Format10. Search by Status - If you only want to view in print titles only select “in print”11. Search Subject Category – receive results for BISAC 1, 2 and 3. For example

Choose Adult Non-Fiction > Cooking > African – the BISAC Codes are NFC/CKB/CKB0030000. Click on search for a list of titles meeting that criteria.

12. Search by Publisher Category – for example choose Random House Childrens Pub. Enter in Look for code or description “jones” . Select Junie B. Jones and click on search.

13. Search by Series – for example choose Crown >American Heart Association> click search

PART III – ORDER BUILDER

STEP 1: BUILDING AN ORDER

By using any of the search options you can add to your order through out the day and on a daily basis until you are ready to checkout. Once you have started building an order every time you go to the ordering tab you will see all of the pending orders. The orders listed have not been checked out and no order has been placed. To continue building an order click on the order you wish to add to.

The order will display and you can continue to add to the order until you click on checkout.

PART IV – META DATA

STEP 1: INQUIRE FOR META DATA

To inquire for Meta Data on titles you can paste a list into Advanced > ISBN.

From here click on Search. Go to Set Fields and choose the view you want to see.
