UCBA’s Parking Lot

With the enrollment going up every year, I think it’s safe to say that the campus can’t keep up with parking and it has become mayhem at certain times of the day.

Just to get a good parking spot, you really have to time yourself on getting to the campus. What I’ve learned is to come maybe five to ten minutes prior to the class before yours lets out. For example if your class begins at 11:15 in the morning, you should try to arrive around 11am.

When the classes let out some parking becomes available. Sometimes, you even can snab a great parking spot. If not a student is left circling around the parking lot for however long it takes to find a spot. That is definitely something to avoid!

Know that the traffic upon leaving the campus at certain times (brace yourself). It’s horrific. I think everyone on campus can agree. You see everyone rushing to their vehicles just to try and beat each other out of the campus parking lot.

The thing is, I don’t think there is much that can be done for the traffic in the parking lot. With the parking, I think the spots for the staff can be lessened because most of the parking spots with the yellow lines are hardly ever filled whether you look in the morning or in the afternoon.

If students plan out their time to arrive on campus that may justify the problem some, but that is totally up to the student.
