Lead Videographer The Lead Videographer will join with other staff and volunteers to share the stories of Haywood Street, contributing expertise in the design and production of video content. This person will plan, develop and publish brief videos to engage and grow our audiences and help us achieve our marketing and communication goals. In addition to enhancing our overall communication profile, the Lead Videographer will help solve new challenges related to the COVID pandemic, including the need for compelling video for use in virtual fundraising events and informational videos to help educate potential volunteers. Reports to: Lead Storyteller Specific duties and responsibilities: Seek to understand the unique nature of the Haywood St. community and connect relationally with all members of our community. Conceptualize, plan and create innovative and engaging video to increase participation, connection, fundraising and visibility of the Haywood St. ministries and programs. Work collaboratively with team members on concept development. Create and publish video content for different platforms, including social media, YouTube, website and offline sharing. Record video interviews and create high-quality film clips from raw footage, including editing, sound mixing and inserting closed captioning, graphics or other on-screen text. Edit short social media length videos and longer feature story piece videos. Establish a clear video archiving and storage system so that material can be readily accessed by Lead Storyteller and/or members of the Communications Team. Support other staff and companions (volunteers) desiring to participate with video production and editing.

Lead Videographer

Reports to: Lead Storyteller

Specific duties and responsibilities:

● Seek to understand the unique nature of the Haywood St. community and connect relationally with all members of our community.

● Conceptualize, plan and create innovative and engaging video to increase participation, connection, fundraising and visibility of the Haywood St. ministries and programs.

● Work collaboratively with team members on concept development.● Create and publish video content for different platforms, including social media, YouTube,

website and offline sharing.● Record video interviews and create high-quality film clips from raw footage, including editing,

sound mixing and inserting closed captioning, graphics or other on-screen text.● Edit short social media length videos and longer feature story piece videos.● Establish a clear video archiving and storage system so that material can be readily accessed by

Lead Storyteller and/or members of the Communications Team.● Support other staff and companions (volunteers) desiring to participate with video production

and editing. ● Operate and manage video streaming software for virtual events.● Coordinate broadcast of live events including worship services to our online community. ● Produce video content to promote and support fundraising events and fundraising appeals

throughout the year.● Capture scenes of our work that support content needs, campaigns and special events. ● Stay up to date on video trends and strategies and techniques.● Assist with additional programs and projects as needed to achieve organizational goals.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

● Thorough understanding and acceptance of the Haywood Street mission and vision.● High proficiency in required software applications, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop,

Illustrator, InDesign, Flash), video editing software (i.e., Premiere, Final Cut Pro), audio editing software and Microsoft Office (including Word, PowerPoint and Excel).

● Industry-specific technologies, software and hardware.● Knowledge of website platforms and communication tools (i.e., WordPress, Squarespace, FTP).● Strong visual and creative sense and video/graphic/multimedia design skills.● Understanding of image library and storage systems.

The ideal candidate will also have:

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.● Ability to work within a diverse community and appreciate different perspectives.● Flexibility and adaptability.● Willingness to work non-traditional hours (some evenings and weekends).● Ability to work independently and make creative decisions.● Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and project perspectives.

Scope: This is a part-time, 20 hour per week position.
