Code (IBC) passed requiring fire sprinklers in virtually all multi-unit construction.

The IBC is adopted at the state or local level in all 50 states.

The International Residential code (IRC) adopted amendment RB- 64-07/08 requiring fire sprinklers in all single family houses, duplexes, and town homes starting January 1, 2011.

The IRC is adopted in 46 states.
