GUESTSPEAKERKEVINSAFE.WeweretakenonafabulousjourneyuptheriversandcreeksofVictoriaandNSW,whereKevin’scousin,FrankTrezise,andhiswifeand5sons,weregoingtosettleinQueensland,bykayakingfromYeainitially,downstreamviatheGoulburnandMurrayRivers,thenupstreamviatheDarlingandBarwontoQld.(5500rivermiles)Initially,hiswifeandinfantsonremainedinMelbourne,butthentheywereinvitedtojoinFrankinEchucatocontinuethejourney.Frankhadbeenawaytowar,andreturnedabrokenman,withmanymentalproblems,andthesonswereappallinglytreatedbytheirfather,whoevenfiredgunshotsaroundthem.AlongtheDarlingRiver,Franksuddenlyabandonedhisproject,leavingimmediately,nevertobeseenagainbythefamily.MotherandsonscontinuedthejourneyuptheriverandalsotheBarwontoMungindi,ontheQueenslandborder,wheretheystartedlivingafresh.Eachofthe5sonsmadealifeforthemselves.Oneofthesons,Tony,wroteasmallbook,whichtellsthisstory,alongwithmanyinterestingphotos.Thebookiscalled“AgainsttheCurrent”,byTonyTrezise.Thankyou,Kevin.Yourstorywasveryinteresting.
