In this documentary, five famous faces head to the US to explore the legalisation of marijuana. Birdsof a Feather actor and Loose Women panellist Linda Robson, ex-EastEnders actor Pam StClement, actor Christopher Biggins, retired footballer and TV presenter John Fashanu and dartslegend Bobby George. The issue of legalisation has long been the subject of debate in the UK, withmarijuana having been reported to ease symptoms of arthritis, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis andseveral other conditions. However, it remains the most commonly used and trafficked illicit drug inthe world, and evidence suggests that frequent and prolonged use can be detrimental to both

mental and physical health. The group begin theirthree-week voyage of discovery in San Franciscowhere, after a Skype consultation with a doctor,they are issued a medical certificate that allowsthem to buy marijuana. Their journey takes themacross California where they visit the ‘Sisters of theValley’, a group of spiritual women who both growand make products from cannabis. They also visit achef who creates delicious dishes with the specialingredient. Each of the stars has their own reasonsfor exploring the issue, and their opinions on thelegalisation of it differ. At the end of their journey,how will they feel about marijuana use?

Comedian and dog-lover, Paul O’Grady, is backat Battersea Cats and Dogs home as hisaward-winning series continues. Comedian anddog-lover Paul meets more of Battersea’sresidents and follows them on their journey tofinding new homes. The series is packed withcanine capers, laughter and some heart-breaking moments, as Paul and the staff atBattersea care for the abandoned animals. Paulhas a genuine affection for the dogs heencounters and struggles not to adopt many ofthem himself. In previous episodes, he fell inlove with a gorgeous tiny Yorkshire terrier with abody odour issue, a pair of aged labradors andmeets some adorable dalmatian pups. Celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo travels backto his home country to explore thefantastic ingredients on offer along Italy’sbeautiful coastline. Adventurer Ray Mears continues his exploration of the magical landscapes of Australia. This week,Ray heads to the rugged Dampier peninsula, located in the north of Western Australia. If the roughand heavily indented coastline was straightened out, it would stretch halfway around the world. Rayheads to the peninsula at sunrise to see a unique phenomenon – the incredible high tides, the levelof which vary by as much as 12 metres. Ray explores how these wild tides shape the lives of theanimals and people that live in the area. He crosses the peninsula from east to west, and therushing waters, hidden reefs and whirlpools make him wonder how the early explorers were able tosurvive here. Ray learns that the churning water creates feeding opportunities for marine life. Raymeets marine biologist James Brown, and the pair travel to an island of shells. On the island, Ray

finds one of the world’s biggest oysters,which measures one foot in diameter!Their time on the island soon runs out asthe tide begins to roar in. Ray goes for adrive round the tip of the peninsula withBrian Lee, who is one of the local Bardipeople. Brian shows Ray how the Bardiuse the tides to survive and points outancient fossilized footprints, which dateback 20,000 years. This one-off documentary looks at thefascinating phenomena of football stickers andthe incredible stories behind the companies thatcreated them. In 1970, four Italian brotherscalled Panini launched a football sticker album

for the World Cup Finals, and by the 1980s criesof ‘Got…got…not got!’ rang out acrossplaygrounds around the world. At one point inthe 80s, it was estimated that 90% of boyscollected the stickers. The four brothers

successfully transformed a childhoodobsession into a multi-billion-poundindustry. When they eventually gottaken over by Robert Maxwell, fourambitious Brits decided to jump shipand take on the mighty Panini bysetting up rival firm Merlin. UnderMerlin, the humble sticker wentbeyond football and into the realms ofmusic, WWF and even the RoyalFamily. The stickers are still collectedtoday and it is expected that nextyear, thousands of World Cup stickerswill be changing hands again.

Another chance to catch the detective drama starringShaun Evans as the young detective EndeavourMorse. Monday’s pilot episode begins with Morse,disenchanted with policing, considering resigning fromthe force. However, DI Thursday (Roger Allam)convinces the young detective to join his investigationinto the disappearance of a schoolgirl. In Girl, Morsemakes a connection between the death of a youngsecretarial student and the murder of a doctor. At thestation, a new chief superintendent arrives andquestions Morse’s CID role. In Fugue, Morse takes aninterest in a murder investigation where the killer hasleft opera quotes at the scene of the crimes. Thepolice consult psychiatrist Daniel Cronyn (Geoffrey Streatfeild), who tells them that they have aserial killer in their midst. In Rocket, the lifeless body of Percy Malleson (James Merry) is found atthe Broom family munitions factory. Malleson was an unpopular employee, suspected by fellowworkers of being a spy for the Brooms. Morse discovers that as the other employees suspected,Malleson was not who he said he was. Finally, in Home, DI Thursday and DC Morse investigate thedeath of an Oxford classics professor who appears to have been the victim of a hit-and-run. Thedetectives are also called to investigate a beating at a local nightclub where Thursday runs into anold foe. In between dealing with the cases, Morse tries to study for his imminent sergeant exams.

The thrilling drama set in 1830s London starringSean Bean continues its second series. The PyeStreet plague intensifies, and Marlott (Bean) ismoved by the plight of those affected. The street’sresidents have been left to die in abject povertywithout assistance from either church or state.Marlott and Spence (Francis Magee) transfer thebodies of the victims to the communal burial pit,marking the doors of the dead with a cross.Marlott runs into an old foe, child catcher BillyOates (Robbie Gee), who is back in town andworking for a travelling show. Marlott is convincedthat Oates knows the whereabouts of LordHervey, as Oates covered for Hervey whenMarlott was framed for Flora’s murder. Oates isadamant he does not know anything, as he has been away at sea and has not seen Hervey. Peel(Tom Ward, pictured) is starting to feel the pressure from the public as the lies printed in theEvening Chronicle rile the community. Peel warns Inspector Treadaway (Paul Kennedy) to makesome progress with the murders or they will all be out of a job. When another murder is discoveredin Westminster, the police are first on the scene.

Ambitious conspiracy thriller, White Dragon, starring acclaimed British actor John Simm hascommenced filming in Hong Kong.Created and written by screenwriting newcomers Mark Denton and Jonny Stockwood, White Dragonhas been commissioned by ITV’s Head of Drama, Polly Hill, from Two Brothers Pictures, the dramaindie established by award winning writers and producers, Harry Williams and Jack Williams (Liar,The Missing, Fleabag). The series will be produced in conjunction with Amazon Prime. Filming alongside John Simm are Anthony Wong, Emilia Fox, Tim McInnerny, Anthony Hayes,Raquel Cassidy, Katie Leung and Dervla Kirwan. Simm takes the role of Professor Jonah Mulray who receives a devastating international phone callabout the death of his wife, Megan (Dervla Kirwan), who has been working in Hong Kong. He’spoleaxed with grief, but has to galvanise himself to board a plane for Asia to identify his belovedwife’s body. Megan has died in a car accident on the beautiful mountain roads at the top of Tai Pooverlooking Hong Kong, and although a notorious black-spot, Jonah feels he must unravel thecircumstances of her death following an emotional voicemail left by his wife just seconds before herdeath. With the help of Sally Porter (Emilia Fox) from the British Consulate, Jonah is taken to themortuary and in the saddest of surroundings he realises his wife has gone forever. Heartbroken Jonah is interviewed by Hong Kong detectives Daniel Tsang, Felix Chang and WilfredChow about Megan’s death, but frustratingly they appear to be going through the motions. Is theremore to the police investigation than the officers are revealing? White Dragon is directed by Paul Andrew Williams (Broadchurch, The Eichmann Show, Murdered byMy Boyfriend) who also executive produces the eight part series alongside Jack Williams and HarryWilliams. Matthew Bird (Decline and Fall, The Musketeers, Fortitude) produces the series, whichwill also film in London later this year. Marston Bloom (Marcella, New Tricks, Vera), Adam Gyngell and Fred Armesto have writtenepisodes four, five and six respectively. ItV commissions a new series of Cold Feet

ITV Head of Drama Polly Hill has today confirmed a new series of the critically acclaimed comedydrama Cold Feet from creator Mike Bullen and award-winning producers Big Talk Productions. Written and created by Mike Bullen, Cold Feet stars James Nesbitt, Hermione Norris, RobertBathurst, Fay Ripley and John Thomson as the nation’s favourite ‘fifty something’ friends as wefollow their lives in Manchester. The series, now in its eighth run, is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary after a triumphantreturn to ITV screens in September 2016. The returning series was one of the channel’s mostsuccessful drama launches of 2016. The latest series, screened in a new Friday slot, achieved a consolidated average of 5.1 million anda 21.3% audience share. The new six-part (6 x 60’) series will go into production next spring in Manchester for broadcast laterthat year on ITV. The broadcaster’s Senior Drama Commissioner Victoria Fea will overseeproduction of the new series for ITV.
