• Traverse City, Mich., is thehome of the annual CherryFestival.
• Cherries, especially darkcherries, are a greater sourceof antioxidants than grapes,oranges, plums, strawberriesand raspberries combined.
• There are more than 1,000different cherry tree varieties inthe U.S.
• It is believed that cherries werediscovered around 70 B.C.
• One cup of cherries has only74 calories.
• Cherries are actually part ofthe rose family.
• The largest cherry pie everweighed was 39,683 pounds.
