achievement levels.

Level 4 Solid Command Lexile score of 795L - 1025LLevel 5 Superior Command Lexile score of 1220L and above
Text Reading Comprehension - TRC
Let’s look at a sample...
TRC is an individually administered assessment that uses leveled readers from a book set to determine a student’s instructional reading level — the reading level at which he or she not only performs well, but is challenged.
During this measure, students read an authentic text and complete a number of follow-up tasks, which may include Oral Comprehension and/or Recalling or Retelling. Assessors observe and record the student’s oral reading behaviors through the administration of a reading record to determine reading accuracy. Written comprehension components are used to help determine whether the student understands the meaning of the text.

What the school and teachers are doing... What families can do:
Core Reading Instructional Program - Daily● Whole Group Reading● Small Group Reading● Writing● Intervention
● Parents should attend parent conferences and school events - communicate with the teacher
● Students should read every night● Students should be reading fiction and
nonfiction● Parents should listen to children read
aloud and ask questions about their reading
● Parents should read higher level material to expose students to vocabulary
● Parents should use online resources to assist children and reinforce reading skills at home
