Assessments
Grades need to reflect what a student knows and can do. Therefore, summative and formative assessments will be
used in this class. Dates for summative assessments will be announced well in
advance (tests, projects, labs, etc.), and will be worth more points.
Formative assessments (more frequent checks of student progress) will be given a few times a week. These will include worksheets, labs, participation, quizzes, assignment checks, citizenship, and other forms of assessment and will all count equally in determining the final grade.
