Saints Peter and Paul VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

July 22-25, 2019 The theme this year is “To Mars and Beyond”. Bible

School runs from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon, Monday through Wednesday and 6:30-8:30pm on Thursday. We are look-ing for ADULT VOLUNTEERS to help plan and coordinate family oriented sum-

mer events. Call Jamie Connelly at 724-775-4111 if interested in being a part of this potential pilot pro-gram.

Father, They Are Your Gift To Me – In the creation story we are told that God made human beings “in His image.” This doesn’t mean that we are exact clones or identical twins of God, but rather that each of us, in light of our unique gifts and characteristics, are created to reflect the vibrant life and lov-ing face of God to others. God’s hand in

our lives doesn’t end in creating us. Throughout our lives God gives us purpose and fills us with the gifts we need to fulfill that purpose. The challenge for us is to know our-selves as God knows us, as his gifts in the world to share his light and life with others. Through prayer and in humility we are invited to see clearly God’s will for our lives and all he has provided for us so that his will and our lives may be complete. God hasn’t randomly or thoughtlessly placed us in this world to create a reality for ourselves. He has sent us into the world with a specific task in mind that we might love others and build up his kingdom in the Church, making it ever more Alive! Visit onmissionchurchalive.org to learn more and to stay informed.

Dear Parishioners,

Pentecost is the birthday of the Church, the moment when the Holy Spirit transformed believers who formerly had been afraid. With help and grace from God, these first Christians, along with the Apos-tles, did the unimaginable - bringing countless people to believe in Jesus and formed a new community of strangers now united in Christ. It occurs to me that this parallels where we are. Our apostle, our Bishop, led by the Spirit, is guiding our diocese into something new and somewhat unimag-inable. We need to be open to God’s grace and all the possibilities that are open to us. We hear in the story of the decent of the Holy Spirit that there were people from many different regions who came together in Christ, which makes me also think of people today from different boroughs with different identities. Hope-fully, the Spirit can bring us together too.

Summer vacation has started for all our stu-dents. May God bless everyone with a happy and safe summer.

Watch the bulletin for details for Vacation Bible School this summer. Here are the starting dates:

St. Cecilia’s begins June 17 in the evenings. St. Peter and Paul’s begin July 22 (mornings). St. Felix also is July 22 (evenings).

If anyone needs to talk with any of the priests, please don’t hesitate to call. Any of our parish offices can get you in touch with whichever Priest you need. Personally, I’m better with the phone then emails but I’m trying. We are here to serve you as best we can.

God Bless, Fr. Bob
