VBS is coming up soon, and we are excited for this year’s theme—Egypt! Joseph’s Journey from Prison to Palace—similar to the Marketplace format from past years. We are always so thankful that the Lord provides parents and volunteers willing to serve during this awesome week. There are dozens of opportunities, and we can’t do it without YOU! Congregational Care, Stan Johnson PVM COMMISSIONING THIS SUNDAY Based on the ideal that all Christians are ministers, the Pastoral Visitation Ministry (PVM) trains and organizes FPC members to assist the Pastors in providing care to those who are ill, homebound, recovering from a hospital stay, or living in retirement homes or care facilities. Having completed extensive training, a new group of PVMs will be commissioned to serve our congregation on Sunday, May 22, at the 11:00am worship service. Anna Dixon, a student at the University of South Carolina, will graduate in May 2017 with a Major in Hospitality Management and a Minor in Business, with a Focus in Meetings and Event Management. Anna has lived in Greenville and attended First Pres for seven years. During high school, she enjoyed volunteering in the Children’s Ministry, helping in the nursery and VBS, and teaching elementary Sunday School. After serving as a First Pres Children’s Ministry Summer Intern

for the past two summers, she is back for a third summer as the fi rst ever “Summer @ 1st Event Intern.”

Anna has a true passion for serving others, and is grateful for the opportunity to disciple FPC children as she was discipled as a child. Anna says, “Words can’t describe how great an experience working for First Pres is. I am blessed to be back for another exciting, eventful summer!”

Welcome to our Children’s Ministry Summer Interns!Caroline Templeton is back for her second summer as an intern in Children’s Ministry. She is a rising

junior at Clemson University, studying Early Childhood Education.

When she’s not at school, Caroline enjoys hanging out with friends and family. She is

excited to be back this summer and looks forward to working with the children of the church.

Mary Grace Mack is a rising sophomore at Clemson University, studying psychology. She has been active at First Presbyterian for as long as she can remember, participating

in Children’s Ministry, Youth Choirs, and Youth Ministry.

Mary Grace loves spending time with her friends and family and being outdoors.
