Give the Gift of Life The American Red Cross is coming to the Freeport Commu-nity Center on Wednesday, August 31

(change in date) from 1:00pm to 7:00pm. Give the Gift of Life. We are in special need of people with Type “O” blood. Appoint-ments are encouraged, walk-ins welcome. Any question, contact Janet Butkowski at 320-836-2837.

? Question of the Week Please take time to reflect on the following:

Children: What are three things you know about Jesus?

Youth: Today's Gospel is about identity—the revealing of Jesus' true self. How diffi-cult is it to you to reveal your true self? What holds you back from being who God created you to be?

Adult: If Jesus turned and asked you the same question, who would you say he is? How would you describe Jesus to someone who did not know him?

Pax Christi The 2011 state assembly of Pax Christi will take place in Rochester, MN on September 17. The theme “Breaking the Culture of Silence; Choosing a Nonviolent Path” will be addressed by keynote speaker Coleen Rowley. Rowley is known for her

Marriage: Love and Life In The Divine

Plan: Responsible Parenthood “[Finally], living according to God’s design for love and life does not mean that married couples can-not plan their families. The principle of re-sponsible parenthood describes the way spouses can work with God’s gift of fertility. Spouses can recognize their own duties to-wards God, themselves, their families and human society as they decide when to try to achieve a pregnancy or conclude that there are sufficiently serious reasons to justify postponing one.” To read the document go to http://www.usccb.org/loveandlife/.

Choose Life Writing a tribute to a Down Syndrome child who died at 16, Lisa B. Laughlin made these profound observations, “I believe she came to Earth to teach us a lesson - the lesson of unconditional love… She needed to remind us not to judge one another but to accept one another exactly as we are.” Lisa B.
