ResidentialCollegesHousingYaleYoungGlobalScholarsPiersonCollegewillhoststudentsattendingthefollowingsessions:IAS,SDSE,andPLE261ParkStreetinNewHaven,Connecticut(locatedonParkStreetbetweenElmandChapelStreetswitheasyaccessfromYorkStreet) PiersonCollegewasfoundedandbuiltin1933andwasextensivelyrenovatedin2004.Today,itisthelargestresidentialcollegeatYale.Pierson’sspaciouscourtyardislinedwithredbricksandwhitecolumns.DavenportCollegewillhoststudentsattendingthefollowingsessions:ASE,FST,andBBS248YorkStreetinNewHaven,Connecticut(locatedonYorkStreetbetweenElmStreetandChapelStreet)DavenportCollege(colloquiallyreferredtoasD’port)wascompletedin1933mainlyintheGeorgianstylewithagothicfacade.ThecollegeisnamedforJohnDavenport,whofoundedYale’shomecityofNewHaven,Connecticut.Anextensiverenovationofthecollege’sbuildingsoccurredduringthe2004-2005academicyear.KeysandDepositsAtcheck-inonthefirstdayoftheprogram,participantswillreceive:

TheYYGSprogramisconductedasanacademicprogramwherefreeexpressionandvigorousdebatearenotonlyencouragedbutexpected. Wewantourstudentstobeintellectuallycourageousandourinvitedpresenterstobefreetospeak“offtherecord”withoutconcernthatwhattheysayinanacademicenvironmentwillappearinthepublicdomain,includingontheinternet,atanytimeduringoraftertheirparticipationorpresentation.
Wemaintainastrictpolicythatprohibitsanyvideo,audioordigitalrecordingofprogramsessionsincludinglectures,briefings,seminars,discussionsessions,andpresentations.
