BALL’S FALLS CONSERVATION AREALincoln, Ontario

Situated in Twenty Valley on the edge of the Niagara Escarpment, Ball’s Falls has natural as well as historical and cultural significance. Visitors can view the Twenty Mile Creek flowing over both upper and lower falls, as well as the 19th century settlement heritage that has been maintained, including the original Ball Family home, an operating flour mill, black smith shop, lime kiln, and a church.

NIAGARA GLEN/GORGENiagara Falls, Ontario

Hiking down into the Niagara Gorge you can see where the Niagara River has carved out the walls of the gorge as the Niagara Falls receded. The Niagara Glen is a designated nature reserve within the Gorge and is part of the Carolinian Forest. Take the trails through the glen to explore the forest and the many boulders throughout.

During the War of 1812, Laura Secord walked 32 km from the homestead in Queenston to DeCew House in Thorold to warn British forces of an American Attack. This historic trail forms part of the Bruce Trail.
