Year 1 & 2 will be visiting Testwood Lakes on Friday 12th May to support their science and geography
lessons this term. They will have the opportunity to take part in a variety
of exciting activities, including pond dipping, map reading as part of an explorer trail and a plant relay race. The children should wear home clothes and dress for the weather on the day. The cost of the trip will be added to your end of term bill. Many Thanks
Great team spirit from Team BO again this week as the summer term kicks off with cricket and rounders!
NOTICE: Due to staff training there will be no Trampoline, Gardening, Multi-Skills, Lego or Girls Rounders clubs next week
Seniors
Boarding
Our Year 9 pupils have their interviews for a chance to attend Teen Tech! These are happening on the 10th May. In Science next week Year 7 are going to be making a solar still to purify water - look out for updates on social media!
In French, Year 9 are learning about tourism at home and abroad. Over the last two weeks they have studied a tourist brochure about Normandie and have revised adjective agreements and position, comparatives and superlatives as well as the imperative.
is weekend our boarding family will be heading o for lots of fresh air and fun! A er sports activities at school on Saturday morning, they will be heading o to Hundred
Acre Woods in the a ernoon for a picnic and adventures through the forest.
On Sunday they’ll be heading to Southsea, Portsmouth for some seaside fun; mini- golf, boating on the lake and a stroll along the beach (making sure that there is time to spare
for a visit to the ice-cream van!)
The longer days of the summer term are upon us and our wonderful school grounds really lend themselves to cycling; an activity that most children love and which is also really healthy for them too. We have the playing fi eld, the paths all around the school buildings as well as the mountain bike course through the woods. Not only do we have a mountain bike club during the week but the evenings and weekends for the boarders are prime time for going out and cycling.
However, as some of the boarders ‘bringing a bike into school’ is a bit of an issue, we are short of bikes. So a humble request - would you be kind enough to donate or lend to the school any bicycles that you may have that are surplus to requirement, please? If you are able to help in this way, you would put lots of smiles on the faces of our children!
Many thanks, Charlie Ekin
