    Wonderful happenings at Wenty!

Our PBL Mascot drawing competition winner is Priyanshi from 2WS. Priaynshi’s wonderful kangaroo

wearing school uniform and promoting our PBL values of Safe, Respectful, a Learner… will be called

    ‘Wenty Kanga’!

In time we will have signage around the school and a mascot

symbolising our new PBL mascot –‘Wenty Kanga’!

Well done Priyanshi. It really is impressive that so many students at

Wentworthville took up the opportunity to be involved in the PBL

Mascot drawing completion and Mr Train, Ms Moorhouse and I had a

very complex job deciding the winner out of a most worthy field of

entrants. Well done to all the children who participated and got I

nvolved. That’s what we like to see at Wentworthville PS.

  • 2017 saw an opportunity for our school to conduct a school swimming carnival –the first one at Wenty PS in

    over 10 years!

This is something I have wanted to reintroduce to our school since arriving at Wentworthville. Mr Warren

(Stage 3 Assistant Principal) took up the challenge and negotiated a date with Wentworthville Pools. We only

had a small turnaround time when the opportunity presented and staff and students were most organised. We

had 63 students in Years 3-6 attend and as a result we had 10 students make it through to the next level of

representation at Zone. Sadly, there was a clash of dates and a number of students had to make a tough

decision as some were sitting the Selective High School entrance exam. Please see our Zone competitors’

names below! Well done everybody. We look forward to our school swimming carnival in 2018!

Congratulations to the six students who attended the Zone Swimming Carnival at Blacktown Aquatic Centre

    on March 9!

  • Zone swimming Carnival Wentworthville Public School was well represented at the Zone Swimming

carnival this year. These top swimmers were in attendance along with

competitors from 15 other schools in the Seven Hills / Wentworthville region.

We came very close to making the regionals in some events but most

importantly it was a fun healthy learning experience.

Thank you to the families for helping your children with

the early start to the day and cheering at the carnival.

A very big thank you to our team manager Mr Arkapaw for

making sure students didn’t miss their races. The positive

outcomes of our swimming carnival and zone swimming carnival set the foundation for Wentworthville

P.S. to expand in the field of swimming next year.

    Parents approaching children in playground

Parents, we have had a few recent incidents where parents have

approached children (not their own children) in the playground to discuss

    school matters.

I would ask you to refrain from doing this as what can be an innocent

follow-up in your mind, can be interpreted in other ways.

If you have an issue, please report it to your child’s teacher in the first

instance, followed by contact with the stage Assistant Principal, Mrs Di Chio or myself for follow-up.

Please do not take matters in to your own hands.

  • PBL Mascot Drawing Competition 2017 Winner

Thank you to all the students who participated in the PBL Mascot Drawing

Competition 2017. It was a very hard decision but we finally came up with a

    winner.

Congratulations to Priyanshi Kiri of 2WS for winning the PBL

Mascot Drawing Competition. She designed a kangaroo that

is unique to our school - now known as the “Wenty Kanga”,

which will be used to support our PBL focus across the

    school.

On behalf of the PBL team we would like to thank all contestants for

their efforts as all students in Wentworthville Public School will all be

‘Jumping Towards Success’ for a long time to come.
