Strategic importance for Kazakhstan and for the whole Eurasian continent, has the realization of the mega-project of building of an international transport corridor "Western Europe - Western China", called the new Great Silk Road.

The route of the international transport corridor "Western Europe - Western China", repeats the basic direction of the route of the Great Silk Road on the territory of Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan has all the conditions and capabilities to become one of the most important segments of the global tourist market. In this regard, the construction of Corridor provides a real opportunity for tourism of the country to find its niche in the tourist market, not only in the Central Asian region but also in Europe and Asia Pacific markets.

The main positive indicators of the project are:Reduction of travel time to 10 days. At that time:-Route through the Suez Canal – up to 45 days;-Trans-Siberian Railway – up to 14 days.
