INTRODUCTION
PROBLEM
It becomes very difficult to dry wet clothes in rainy season, specially in very high humidity areas. Techniques like washing machine dryer, ironing, laundry hydro have limitations like high cost, power inefficient, time consuming etc.
OBJECTIVE
The project aims to fabricate a low cost, durable, user-friendly, time efficient and low power consuming product for drying clothes in humid weather and rainy areas for both households and commercial sectors.
CONCEPT
Boiling point of water is a function of pressure. Suction is created using pump/ blower, reducing the chamber pressure, causing the wet clothes to dry at considerably low temperature.

ARRANGEMENT OF ELEMENTS
Product consists of a closed cabinet.
Wet clothes, to be dried, are kept in the cabinet
The cabinet has a seal-pack type door.
From the top wall of the cabinet arise suction pipe, from where blower sucks the air from inside of the chamber.
There is a separate upper cabinet (not seal packed), where pump and circuit are placed. The front part has LCD display and control panel.

HUMAN FACTORS Cognitive Load:
- Too many controls and displays avoided- Semi-automated design: Taking too many inputs from users avoided- Colour Coding: More than 3 colours avoided- Feedback System : LCD display
Cultural Stereotype: Bright and blooming colours preferred
Anthropometric DimensionsHandle Door ClearanceHandle height
- 95th percentile male finger tip breadth=17mm- Handle height = 4*17= 68 mm
- 95th percentile finger tip depth=15 mm- Therefore, Handle Door Clearance=15mm
