What Is AlphaAlpha is a series of interactive sessions that explores a relationship with Jesus. No pressure, and no charge. It began in 1977 at Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB), an Anglican church in London, and spread in the 1990s throughout the UK and then internationally.

Why AlphaAlpha gives people who do not go to church or have never believed in God an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a relevant, non-threatening and friendly environment. By openly exploring life’s big questions, we hope these people will find meaning in Christ.

The VisionOur vision is to play our part in the evangelisation of the nations and the transformation of society, and our goal is for 100 million people to have attended Alpha by 2020. This will be achieved by developing partnerships, offering a variety of options for running Alpha in any language or context, to train others globally and increasing the availability of Alpha through new technologies and low-cost media.
