Newsletter: November 2015 What's Happening at Dimock? A Note from Our President & CEO: Greetings Dimock Family! With the holiday season upon us, we fill this month's newsletter with a variety of information on how Dimock continues to make an impact in our communities, as well as ways your support can make a tremendous impact on the lives of the individuals and families we serve everyday. We are particularly excited about our Annual Holiday Gift Drive that will provide approximately 1,000 children we serve with gifts during the holidays. We encourage you to help in this mission by donating a new, unwrapped gift to put a smile on the faces of children in the Dimock community. I am also proud of all of the volunteer efforts that happen here on The Dimock Center campus and would like to continue to highlight those here. Dimock in Our CommunitiesWith the opioid addiction crisis prominent in the news,Dimock continues to be a leading voice in the discussion.On a recent segment of Basic Black on WGBH, Dr. Jordanweighed in on an interesting discussion about communitiesof color and addiction amidst the current opioid crisis.Listen now.

Dr. Holly Oh, Chief Medical Officer at The Dimock Center,recently sat on a panel for The Institute of HealthcareImprovement to discuss End of Life Care and MedicalReimbursement. Dr. Oh shared the challenges of integrating end­of­life care conversations intothe workflow of a neighborhoodhealth center. Listen now.

Earlier this week, Dr. Oh alsoparticipated in a panel for theMassachusetts League ofCommunity Health Center's 50thAnniversary Celebration discussingworkforce development both as anorganizational strategy to buildinternal capacity, and as a meansfor increasing educational andeconomic benefits to communities.

Dr. Jordan is a panelist at an upcoming substance abuse forum led by Suffolk County SheriffSteven W. Tompkins. The discussion, "A Conversation About Substance Abuse & Mental HealthCare In The Commonwealth," will be moderated by Sheriff Tompkins on Tuesday, December 8,2015 at Roxbury Community College. Other panelists include, Governor Charlie Baker; MarylouSudders, Secretary of the Executive Office of Health & Human Services; Peter Koutoujian, Sheriffof Middlesex County; Joseph Feaster, Jr., Esq. Of Counsel at McKenzie & Associates, P.C.; andJack Kelly, Founder & CEO of iRecover.

Volunteers at DimockWe are extremely grateful to all of those who choose to lend their time to The Dimock Center andthose we serve.

We recently welcomed Senior Vice President of TJXCompanies, Inc., and Dimock Community FoundationBoard member George MacNaught and his daughtersto Dimock to read to a classroom of children in ourHead Start program. The kids were very excited tosee new faces. Thank you so much for your time; itreally makes a difference!

A group of managers from The Sheraton Boston Hotel(home of this year's Steppin' Out) came to Dimockthis month to help with various projects aroundcampus. Ways to Give Back During the Holiday SeasonThe Dimock Center's Annual Holiday Gift Drive is underway and we are looking for new andunwrapped gifts for the children in our programs!

This year, our goal is tosupport 1,000 children.Please help us make thisholiday season amazingby donating a new andunwrapped gift. Books inboth English and Spanishare encouraged, as well a non­violent age appropriate toys from infant to 13+ years old.
