Costs and Budgeting
Use Budget Tracking to define a budget at a high level (program or project) so the project manager can allocate funds and track costs against the budget.
Pre-defined financial fields, such as cost center, improve mapping to the financial fields tracked in project accounting systems.
Now planned and actual costs can be assigned to a task with Cost Resources, which also supports integration of Project with accounting systems.
What’s new in Project Web Access?
Interface is based entirely on Windows SharePoint Services – pages can be customized by adding or removing individual web parts.
Initiate Proposals and Activity plans Resource plans Improved handling of master projects Robust timesheet application independent
of projects and tasks Enhanced Outlook Integration Ability to define deliverables for a task Team Tasks can be assigned to a group of
resources
What’s new in Project Server?
Improved administration functions Unlimited Enterprise custom fields Users and Resources have been combined
into single entity More control over how workspaces get
provisioned for a project Server queuing Active cache Event handling engine Ability to define fiscal periods
