Benchmark Broadcast Systems has an extremely strong broadcast and IT engineering know-how base, with over 500 man years of experience in the field. Moreover, we are sharply focused on providing cutting edge technologies for digital media creation, management and distribution. As such, we were one of the pioneering companies on the technology front that led broadcast technology away from the traditional linear technology towards the 'new age' computer based open technologies.

Consultancy – we understand broadcast

Benchmark Broadcast Systems’ Project Consultancy Team has extensive experience in delivering solutions and recommendations for wide-ranging requirements in the broadcast and television as well as the communications industry.

Our team has prepared complete project reports both for setting up completely new television stations or channels as well as the upgrading and augmenting of existing ones. These reports embrace the entire gamut ranging from basic feasibility to technology options, installation and running costs, training schedules, financial reportage and other such implications.

Apart from addressing specific issues and problems, our team has been, or is currently, involved in such far reaching projects as advising Telcos on strategic issues; putting together and managing a consortium of companies to provide IPTV solutions to Telcos; providing a detailed project report for a country-wide, digital-based MSO and ISP; and working out end-to-end IPTV solutions, for specific companies, in association with leading international vendors.

Additionally, we have also worked with existing channels to thoroughly examine and evaluate their current operations, workflows, existing hardware and software configurations, archival capabilities, et al and identify need-gaps, if any, and recommend individual or comprehen-sive solutions. In these cases we have either worked closely with the Channel’s existing engi-neering team or separately as an independent observer.

Engineering Services – expertise from design to support

Benchmark has a large pool of design and engineering talent, independently available on a project basis. Their expertise bridges multiple products across multiple domains.

Experienced and qualified in all areas of broadcast and post-production, the pool’s skills range from systems design to implementation, commissioning and providing technical support. Moreover, our engineers are well versed in local operating conditions, adaptable to situations and are trained to be enterprising and innovative.

Managed Services:As part of our Engineering Services, we also offer Managed Services. These are provided to customers, who are either in a nascent stage of operation and lack sufficient experienced and/or trained personnel; customers facing a temporary staffing shortfall; or customers who require independent third party technical support for whatsoever reason. Here, we provide a support which ranges from the gamut of a single aspect of operation to comprehensive solutions involving monitoring of the work-flow, equipment maintenance and providing an engineer at site for any emergencies during normal operations; providing preventive mainte-nance and training on Standard Operating Procedures based on work-flow changes; even managing the complete Technical Operations Centre (TOC).

In effect, our Managed Services are provided for any or all of a Channel or Station’s technical operations.
