Controls Application User's Guide), installation and setup guides, configuration information, and

other Unifier-related documents.

To access this feature:

On the Help menu, click Unifier Library. The Primavera Unifier Online Documentation Library opens

in a new browser window. Click the categories on the left to expand them. Application-specific

user's guides are contained under Application Documentation.

5

Integration of Primavera Unifier and uDesigner

Starting with Primavera Unifier release 9.12, uDesigner is now integrated with Unifier. It is accessible

via the Company Workspace while in Administration Mode.

You can now create or modify business processes or managers with uDesigner, and deploy the

designs to the Unifier staging environment to configure and test them immediately. Note that

uDesigner in Primavera Unifier production environments is read-only.

You can create design bundles consisting of multiple business processes and managers, and then

export them to another staging environment or to a production environment.

To access this feature:

Click the Company Workspace tab, and select Administration Mode. Expand the uDesigner node,

and select a node under uDesigner. Select an item from the log, or click Open on the File menu to

create a new item.

6

Primavera P6 Integration

Starting with release 9.12, Primavera Unifier is more closely integrated with enterprise project and

portfolio planning and scheduling applications Primavera P6 EPPM and Primavera P6 Professional

EPPM. This integration allows you to:

Link an instance of P6 to a Unifier environment.

Link P6 projects to Unifier project schedule sheets.

Assign Unifier project cost codes to P6 activities.

Execute manual or scheduled updates from P6 into the Unifier schedule.

To access this feature:

Both Primavera Unifier and Primavera P6 must be properly configured; this includes configuring P6

Job Services to allow for Unifier integration.

tab. Also, on the Projects EPS page, click Set Project Preferences on the Actions menu and then

select the Primavera Unifier tab to identify the Unifier project, schedule sheet, and data mapping

template you are using. In P6 Professional EPPM, Unifier settings appear on the Unifier tab in Project

Details.

7

Updated Configurator

Starting with release 9.12, Primavera Unifier's Configurator has two new tabs containing

configuration options added as a result of Primavera Unifier's Red Stack integration and other

features new to release 9.12, such as Oracle User Productivity Kit enablement and Oracle Maps

integration.

8

9

WebLogic Integration

Starting with release 9.12, as part of its compliance with Oracle's Red Stack, Primavera Unifier uses

Oracle WebLogic as its application server, including support for JRockit as its Java Virtual Machine.

Apache Tomcat is not supported by release 9.12.

Additionally, release 9.12 uses Oracle HTTP Server as its Web server.

10

Oracle Enterprise Manager Integration

Starting with Primavera Unifier release 9.12, Unifier is now integrated with Oracle Enterprise

Manager (OEM), which monitors databases, assets, and application servers such as WebLogic. In

support of OEM, Primavera Unifier contains new, custom metrics that are fed through WebLogic

and show:

Login session count: How many users are currently logged in

Free database connection count: Number of free database connections

Long locked database connection count: Number of database connections that are

locked for 60 seconds or longer

Active background job count: Number of background jobs which are currently running

Active project count: Number of unique projects being accessed by users

Active web service count: Number of web services calls that are being executed

This information allows an administrator to track Unifier performance and module usage. OEM can

be set up to collect information at periodic intervals, allowing trends to be shown over time. In

addition to the metrics listed above, OEM provides customizable, out-of-the-box metrics.

To access this feature:

Install OEM and then import and deploy the Primavera Unifier plug-in. View metrics in the Enterprise

Manager Console.

11

Single Sign-On and Updated User Provisioning

Starting with release 9.12, Primavera Unifier supports Oracle Access Management (OAM), which

allows users to access both Unifier and P6 with a single sign-on. Additionally, Unifier now supports

Oracle Identity Management (OIM), which allows administrators to create users for both Unifier

and P6 via a single process. When OIM is enabled, administrators can also update a user's name or

e-mail address, or change a user's status to active or inactive.

To access this feature:

To simultaneously provision users in both Unifier and P6, and to allow users to use single sign-on to

access Unifier and P6, OIM and OAM must be installed and configured. Additionally, on the

General tab in the Primavera Unifier Configurator, select the OIM/OAM Enabled check box.

12

Support for Oracle WebCenter Content

Starting with release 9.12, Primavera Unifier can use Oracle WebCenter Content (formerly Oracle

Universal Content Management) as its document repository. During the configuration process,

customers managing on-premise implementations can choose to store Document Manager

documents in Oracle WebCenter Content or a network file system; customers with cloud-based

implementations will use WebCenter Content.

To access this feature:

Install and configure Oracle WebCenter Content, and establish a trusted connection between it

and Primavera Unifier. During the Primavera Unifier configuration process, select Oracle

WebCenter Content as the repository.

13

BI Publisher Integration

Primavera Unifier Configurator, enter the requested information into fields on the Report tab.

Once a connection is established, generate report data, and use BI Publisher's Microsoft Word

plug-in to create report layouts. Reports can be uploaded into Unifier and run from the Reports

node at the project/shell-level.

15

Oracle Maps Integration

Starting with release 9.12, the Oracle Maps suite is now integrated with Primavera Unifier's base

map infrastructure. The Oracle Maps JavaScript API is now used to display map images and

interact with map data, along with Oracle Geocoder to retrieve address points.

To access this feature:

Maps must be enabled at the shell or business process-level. When enabled, a Map View option is

displayed.

16

UPK Enablement

Starting with release 9.12, Primavera Unifier is enabled for Oracle User Productivity Kit (UPK), Oracle

application that enables users to develop, customize, and publish documentation and e-learning

Primavera Capital Planning Application

Primavera Capital Planning is an application that allows planners and project managers to set up

capital plans with an optimal mix of projects based on an organization's goals, and sequence

those projects based on available budgets.

The application enables planners to use project cost and schedule information to analyze “what

if” scenarios. These scenarios are used to propose an optimal mix of projects for a portfolio, based

on available budget targets and the strategic goals of the company.

Scenario sheets are preconfigured to pull in the following data from projects:

General project information

Project start and end dates

Cash flow data (both forecasted and actual) from each project’s cost manager

With this data, planners can forecast costs over a specific time period, called a “period structure.”

They can then manipulate scenarios by:

Including or excluding projects

Pushing start dates for planned projects into the future

Modifying project end dates to change the project’s duration

Proposing different cash flow distribution numbers by manually editing the cashflow

columns

Negotiating proposed budgets with project managers

32

Portfolio Manager Sheet

The Portfolio Manager scenario sheet is configured to automatically add all active projects to the

sheet as rows. The scenario sheet contains the following columns of information:

Project name

Project number

Project type

Project state

Estimated budget

Start date

End date

Cash flow columns for each year in the planning period

Primavera Unifier collects budget and projection data from projects’ cost managers and displays

them in cash flow columns.

33
