. AN OPPORTUNITY TO HELP PLANT 2 CHURCHES IN KENYA

Nancy and I have an opportunity to help plant 2 churches in Kenya with 2 of our couples that we taught at African Christian College. Last November we attended the graduation of the class of 2014 and were glad to see our former students and they were glad to see us. We had a discussion with 2 of the couples who were going back to Kenya about their future and where God would use them. In the discussion we talked about partnering with them to plant new churches. As they are now back in Kenya and settled back into the daily routine, we have been communicating back and forth about the possibility of planting the new churches becoming a reality. For those of you who have supported Nancy and me through the years, you know we have done all kinds of pro-jects but I think this may be one of the most significant. As you know, Al-shabab, went into Kenya and murdered 148 Christian students there. As I was thinking about all this, I was reminded that Paul said God did not give us a spirit of timidity but a spirit of boldness. Then I thought, let’s get with it. Let’s plant churches that preach love and do more , not less, in the time God has given us. Let’s just do it!!! So, we are going to help plant these 2 new churches, one in Nairobi and one in Oyugis, close to Lake Victoria. With God’s help, World Wide Disciple Makers International Inc. will help with funding and prayer support and once a year on site visitation if possible. It is a big step for us, but now is the time and the time is short. Thank You for your love and support, Truman and Nancy Whitaker

INTRODUCTION OF OUR MISSION EVANGELISTS

Rachel and Felix-Oyugis, Kenya Nancy had Rachel and Felix in her English class in 2012 at ACC. They became fast friends. Then I had them in a World Religions Class in 2013 and we became friends. We helped them while they were at ACC have a ministry in one of the local churches by providing for them and having them gain experience in ministry and leadership. Rachel and Felix have experienced heartbreak as one of their children, Liz, a daughter, died at 8 months of age. Their son, Gil , now 7 years of age is in grade 2. They have been married 8 years and live in the area where the church will be planted. Their biggest wish or dream is to have a car for transportation. Maybe there is someone or some church out there that God would touch your heart for this need.

Harun and Hellen, Nairobi, Kenya We taught Harun and Hellen also in our classes the same as Rachel and Felix. Harun is a very humble man and does a good job of preaching as we were able to hear him in chapel several times. Hellen is a prayer warrior and a gentle soul. She is a good help meet for Harun. They have ministry experience and are ready to plant a new church in the Nairobi area. Harun and Helen have 3 children and live in Nai-robi. They will be renting a building to begin and have given me a list of what they need to start. Please see the next side to see if you can help with this church plant.
