The film had a Budget of $20million this is a relativelysmall budget, but not much was needed to be spent onlocation or on special effects.

The film was mainly filmed at Cobham hall, an all girls

public school in rural England, this was useful because thefilm was about a girl going to an English boarding school.

The beginning of the film was filmed in Los Angeles, whenthe main character (Poppy) was caught misbehaving by hermillionaire father, before he sent her to the English

boarding school. One of the main story lines to the film is when poppy takes

over the lacrosse team, oxford university lacrosse teamand Cranbrooke lacrosse club provided players andreferees to be used as extras in the lacrosse scenes.



Wild child was marketed in a unique way thattargeted a majority of possible audiences.

They utilised social network sites, the targetaudience of the film is for teenage girls, socialnetwork is popular amongst teenagers and wasvery effective. The wild child page gave moreinformation about the cast and crew off the setas well as on it.

The film also used Radio stations to market thefilm, this was clever because it would target the

older audience and possibly parents. This wouldappeal to parents as they may then take theirchildren to watch it.

The film was also advertised using the traditionalmethods of posters and TV adverts.



Wild child was released on august 15th 2008 inBritain. It took 5th place at the box office making£2.2 million in its opening weekend, but was 12th 4 weeks later.

It was released on DVD on December 8th 2008.

It was more of a ‘DVD film’ it was only in

cinemas for a short time.

It was a bit of a financial flop, it struggled tomake £20million until it released to a widermarket in Europe, and only made £1.9millionmore than the original budget.
