Residence Halls Picking out a color scheme for your dorm room and figuring out who's bringing the TV are important parts of the college experience. Living on campus teaches you to work with others and be a functioning part of a bigger community.

There’s free basic cable, two Internet lines—including wireless access and no-cost laundry. First-year housing favorites include Ross and Davidson Halls, each with its particular style and history. Resident Advisers (RAs) live on each floor, ready to answer questions, foster group discussions, organize activities and more.

Commuting You don’t have to live on campus to enjoy student life at WPU. Parking is plentiful, and Belk Hall’s lounge is a hotspot for studying or relaxing.

Meals and Munchies Belk Hall offers tasty, nutritional food options, including a salad bar, deli, cooked-to-order expo station and a variety of daily cooked meals. Peace Perk, the on-campus coffee shop, also offers Java City coffee, sandwiches, snacks and a place to hang out.

William Peace University believes everyone should have access to a college education. That's why we're committed to making it as affordable as possible. We recognize that students and families are struggling to pay for college and we want to help; that's why in a time where colleges across the country are raising costs, we've actually lowered ours. In 2012, WPU reduced tuition almost 8% and froze tuition for the 2013-14 academic year.

Every accepted student is automatically considered for merit and need-based aid (with a submitted FAFSA). We also offer academic awards for the performing arts, community service, leadership, extracurricular activities and more.

Through a combination of financial aid packaging, pursuit of scholarship and grant opportunities, and on-campus work-study jobs, WPU works to make its educational program available to all qualified students, regardless of financial need. We also provide online information about payment options and the forms you need.

Your college education is an important investment in yourself and your future, which is why we are committed to making your pursuit of higher education affordable. So, when you are considering the cost of a WPU education, you should also consider the value of a WPU education.

Public Safety Campus Public Safety Officers are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week, available to escort students, aid motorists and provide any other assistance. The PacerAlert system also sends short, informative text messages to text-enabled cell phones, keeping you up to date during emergencies and natural disasters.

Spiritual Life WPU includes students from all religious/spiritual backgrounds and encourages all members of the campus community to strengthen their own spirituality. Weekly services are held in the James Dinwiddie Chapel located in Main Building. The Reverend R. Lee Carter, Ph.D. leads the Chapel and focuses his messages to be vibrant and relevant; addressing issues that impact students.

Health and Happiness The Wellness Center helps you maintain mental, emotional and physical health. It provides routine treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, monitors chronic illnesses, offers educational programs for the prevention of all communicable diseases and professional counseling services if you need help coping with the challenges of college life or relationships.

William Peace University takes a city of more than 400,000 people and makes it feel like home. With beautiful oak trees and a large front lawn, our historic campus has carved out its own niche in the middle of downtown Raleigh. Students enjoy the benefits of living in a big city while still learning and growing in a tight-knit community. There's even a Krispy Kreme shop right around the corner for late night runs when the Hot and Now sign is on.

Acknowledging that each prospective student is an individual, WPU takes a holistic approach to admission, considering each application as it is submitted throughout the academic year. Applications for full-time undergraduate students are accepted on a rolling basis and decisions are made when applications are complete.

Applications are reviewed individually. Decisions are based on the following criteria:

* GPA in academic courses (see minimum course requirements)* Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT ) (verbal and math only) or American College Test (ACT ) scores* Course selection* Rank in class* Personal essay* Letter(s) of recommendation* Interview with an admissions representative, is recommended.

Further consideration will be given to an applicant’s personal qualifications, co-curricular activities, community involvement, and overall potential for success. Additional consideration of a students’ acceptance will be granted upon the discretion of the Vice President.

First-Year Student AdmissionThe major criteria in decisions of admission are the strength of the high school course selection and the grades in the academic courses. Below is a list of the recommended academic courses

your admissions counselor uses to evaluate a student file:

English: 4 units

Math: 4 units (Algebra I, II, Geometry, & Advanced Math):

Science: 3 units (2 lab sciences)

Social Science: 3 units

Foreign Language: 2 units

Sports are about more than just playing a game. They're about developing the leadership skills, teamwork and work ethic you'll need for the rest of your life.

William Peace University offers student-athletes the chance to continue their athletic careers and grow as leaders while receiving a top-notch education. WPU is a member of the U.S.A. South Athletic Conference of the NCAA Division III and fields teams in eight different sports.
