Developing hand-eye coordination and developing team work skills are both valid advantages of computer gaming. This question has been really well answered by the candidate.

The above candidate response gives two uses of social networking and gives valid advantages and disadvantages including playing games with people from all around the world as an advantage and disadvantages include cyber bullying, paedophiles and identity theft. Extremely well answered.

The above answer was worth 7/7 and is definitely an A Grade response. This candidate chose to answer Q 10b about Interactive Digital Television which was quite uncommon for candidates as most candidates selected to answer about Social Networking. The reason this answer achieved full marks was because it included uses of Interactive Digital Television and many advantages and disadvantages – I think this answer was well above a GCSE candidate response. I especially liked the fact they included real life examples including that when the Olympic Games were on – an interactive TV can allow you to tailor the sporting coverage that you would like. An absolutely fantastic response.

The above candidate response is an A Grade answer that achieved full marks. Extremely well written by the candidate and includes two uses and a mixture of advantages and disadvantages. The answer is worth 7/7 and includes answers well above GCSE standard.

Two uses have been given in the above answer but the candidate didn’t quite give enough advantages and disadvantages to achieve the full marks. Advantages given include being able to find long lost friends and disadvantages included cyber bullying and fake identities. Adding more advantages could have improved the mark awarded to the candidate.

The above candidate answer was worth 8/10 so a definite A Grade response. Presentation, spreadsheet, database and spreadsheet software were named and described, however I think the candidate could not think of any other software types to increase their mark to 10/10. Very well answered and absolutely fantastic and distinctly different examples of how the software could be used.

A definite A* grade response from this candidate. Distinctly different and creative examples of how each software type could be used. Very well written and spelling and grammar has been addresses. Very detailed and extremely creative ways to use the software have been given. The photo editing software part of the response was very creative and detailed. A lot of thought has gone into the response and I like the idea that the photos of the play would be edited and placed in the school newsletter.

No brand names have been used and the candidate has given very detailed and distinctly different answers. Web authoring software was used too which is a very good response.
