Touring and TastingWoodinville offers an opportunity like nowhere else in America. There is not another spot with the abundance of fine wineries so close to a major city. Woodinville’s proximity to Seattle,

just 30 minutes, offers wine lovers a convenient opportunity to visit, learn,

discover and taste the quality and character of Washington wines. Several of the

wineries offer daily cellar tours and wine tasting. Others are open weekends only, by appointment only, for wine country events,

or on special days throughout the year.

HistoryThe Woodinville wine industry began with the establishment of Chateau Ste. Michelle in 1976. With over 70 wineries and tasting

rooms, Woodinville Wine Country has become the core for Western Washington

winemaking and wine discovery.

Wine and VineyardsAlmost all Woodinville wineries grow

their grapes in the warm, arid climate of Eastern Washington’s Columbia Valley. The vineyards boast sandy, gravelly soils providing an ideal medium to plant our

vines. Washington’s wine growing region shares similar latitudes to the great wine

regions of Northern Europe, which provides plenty of long, warm days

during the growing season to ripen grapes to ideal levels.

two large events throughout the year in addition to smaller events to

present new releases.

Passport to WoodinvilleOur signature event, “Passport to Woodinville”, kicks off spring in

April. Guests will have the opportunity to taste wines from exclusive boutique wineries and tasting

rooms as well as special selections from a

few of Woodinville’s more well-known

participants.
