Youth Mission Trip
20 youth and chaperones from St. Vincent de
Paul will be traveling to the Dominican Republic
to serve at an NPH orphanage! Last summer
was our first Youth Mission trip to the Dominican.
Thank you to all of the parishioners
who donated supplies that filled 16 suitcases
for us to bring down to this home!
NPH (Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos)
has orphanages in 9 countries and was
originally started in Mexico by a priest,
Fr. William B. Wasson, in 1954.
Our trip is set for August 11-17, 2020!
All youth in 9th-12th grade are able to attend. If you have a
heart for service, this is the trip for you! Nichole Chang, Deacon Larry Lawinger,
JoAnn Lawinger, and John Boyle will be leading the 2020 trip.
We are excited that Fr. Zehren will be joining the group as well!
Contact Nichole Chang to register at [email protected].
More details are also on our web site.

indicate we have no
adorers for those hours
and are in urgent need.
We are looking for an
Hourly Coordinator for 2 AM.
This means you would be calling subs
for any vacancies during this hour.
We are also looking for a Quadrant Coordinator for the Noon
to 5 PM shift. This means that you would be checking attendance
once a week and helping call for subs when the
Hourly Coordinator cannot be reached. The pay is heavenly!!!

Thank you for be ing
a part o f our
pari sh family!
I am in Italy this week with a group of parish-
ioners enjoying la dolce vita. The plan is to
soak up as much as possible of the ancient
churches, glorious domes, frescoes, fountains,
art, galleries, sculpture, ruins, tombs, relics, catacombs, vistas,
pasta, antipasto, pizza, tiramisu, gelato, wine, limoncello,
culture, and history – all in a temperate climate.
Beyond all the good things that we will receive, we hope
mostly to make the trip an offering. We offer ourselves to
God that He may speak to us in profound moments of prayer.
We want to know deeper communion with the saints and
angels and the Body of Christ through His Church.
Life is a struggimento (a mix of gut-churning misery and yearn-
ing) yet it is mozzafiato (breath-taking and awe-inspiring).
Thank God for the Roman Catholic Church, the Barque of
Peter, for guiding us through the agony and the ecstasy to our
destiny – the true Eternal City of heaven.

Children’s Liturgy of the
Word (CLOW) has Begun ONLY at 11 AM Mass
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is now offered at
the 11 AM Mass each Sunday.
(CLOW is discontinued at 9 AM Mass due to lack of volunteers.)
CLOW is when first and second graders leave Mass after the
priest sends them forth after the opening prayer.
They leave with two Virtus-trained leaders and proceed to the
West Meeting Room where the children celebrate a simplified
version of the Liturgy of the Word. The children return at
Preparation of the Gifts (collection time). It is a time of prayer
and not a class, so it does not duplicate religion class in
SVDP School or Faith Formation classes.
No fee and no registration required.
A collection for Zanewood Elementary
School, a school in our district which has a
staggering 30% of its student body who
are homeless. This collection helps to
provide whatever resources the school will
need to help these students.

Following the inspiration of our patron saint,
St. Vincent de Paul, we seek to open our doors
wide to help educate the minds, hearts,
and souls of young people.
Since we launched The Blessings Fund in 2016, the number of
families that have applied for assistance has gone up 38%,
and the number that have qualified for assistance has gone up
63%! Unfortunately, due to this increase, we only have one
more school year of funding available.
All money raised during Give to the Max will be put into
The Blessings Fund so we are able to continue to provide the
gift of tuition assistance at our Parish School.
Give to the Max Day is officially Nov. 14. But donations can be given now –
go to school.saintvdp.org and click on the Give to the Max
Image to donate.
The KC’s wish to thank the parishioners of St. Vincent de Paul
who attended our breakfasts on Sept. 29 and Oct. 27.
Your generosity allowed us to present donations of $1,605 to
Sharing and Caring Hands and $1,800 to WomenSource.
Both organizations provide services to those individuals in
need of your support.
The KC’s are committed to unity, charity and fraternity with
our fellow brother Knights. It is our primary objective to
provide support to our church, school and surrounding commu-
nities. We continue to add and welcome new members.

Thanks to everyone around the world for
this life saving effort. 424 babies around
the world (Source: 40daysforlife.com) were
saved thanks to the numerous volunteers who contributed
powerful prayer time in front of the darkness of abortion
clinics. We pray for the strength to continue bringing the
light of Christ to women and men who have lost hope and
courage to choose life over the devastation of abortion.
If you’re interested in how to help, please call the office and
we can call you back.

all Masses this weekend.
This food drive will benefit Zanewood
Elementary School families. Zanewood is
part of the Osseo School District and has a
large number (90%+) of students receiving
free and reduced price meals. Homeless-
ness is also an issue.
Food can be brought to Church on Nov. 16

extra sacks you may have.
We also need volunteers to organize and
distribute food at Zanewood School on
