WelcomeWe are very glad to have you worshiping our gracious God with us today.

Flowers The sanctuary flowers are given today to the glory of God.

Don Donell, solo

To Our Guests,We especially welcome you today! More information about our church is available on our website at firstpresaugusta.org.

Spiritual CareIf you would like to speak to someone about what it means to know Jesus Christ or you have any spiritual need or question, please use one of the prayer cards in the pew rack to contact one of our pastors. Our church elders are also available to speak with you. An elder will be standing next to the pastor following the service.

Children’s Check-inWe are committed to the highest level of protection possible for the children placed in our care on Sundays and at all church events. For this reason, we require parents of newborns through fifth grade children to check in their children before they go to the nursery, Sunday School, Catechism, Children’s Church or any other children’s activity. Several kiosks are available in the Welcome Center. The process is quick and easy, and volunteers are available if you need assistance checking in.

Children’s WorshipWe offer a specially designed program for children in pre-k through fourth grade during the morning services. A leader will escort children from the sanctuary to their classrooms during the hymn of preparation. Parents are welcome to accompany them to observe where to pick them up after the service. Parents of children in pre-k through second grade are asked to pick up their children following Sunday School or the 11 a.m. worship service.

Nursery Nurseries are provided for infants and toddlers during the worship services and Sunday School. We also provide a Mother/Infant Room located beside Nursery 1 which is equipped with live video feed of the worship services. Ushers are available to direct you.

Additional Seating Additional seating for morning and evening worship services is available each week in St. Andrew’s Hall.

As stewards of God’s resources, we try not to print an excess of bulletins. We invite you to bring this bulletin with you when you return for the evening service.

For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.

The Lord be with you.And with your spirit.Let us worship God!

Guide us through these days, O, Lord; help us to seek your way,Trusting as you lead us with love, teach us again to pray.

Help us know you more clearly, help us love you more dearly, help us follow you more nearly day by day, day by day.Guide us, Lord, we pray.

Guide us through these days, O, Lord; help us to seek your way,Seeking wisdom from your word, strengthen our tender faith.

When we stray and fall to sin help us find your path again; Draw us closer in your fellowship of love.

The Personal Confession of Sin (Please kneel if able to do so)

The Corporate Confession of Sin

Holy Father, we call to you and name you as eternal, ever present, and boundless in love. Yet often, O God, we fail to recognize you in our daily lives. We fail to love you with all our hearts, or serve you as we ought. Rebuke us not in your anger, nor chasten us in your wrath! Heal us from our sin, for we are troubled. Deliver us for the sake of your steadfast love. Our sins trouble us, O God. We are troubled by how they have hurt others. We are troubled by how they have hurt us. Your ways are right, O righteous God! And whenever we have refused to follow them we have found out how right they are. Have mercy on us, O God, because of the perfect sacrifice of Christ Jesus our Lord, in whose name we pray. Amen.

†The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s PrayerOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

The Assurance of Pardoning Grace .........................................................1 John 3:1-5

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin.

(Sung by all)How sweet the name of Jesus soundsIn a believer’s ear!It soothes our sorrows, heals our wounds,And drives away our fear.

I makes the wounded spirit wholeAnd calms the troubled breast;’Tis manna to the hungry soul,And to the weary, rest.

†The Response—How Deep the Father’s Love for Us ....................Rodgers and Wyse

(Sung by all)How deep the Father’s love for usHow vast beyond all measureThat he should give his only SonTo make a wretch his treasure. How great the pain of searing loss—The Father turns his face away,As wounds which mar the Chosen OneBring many sons to glory.

I will not boast in anything,No gifts, no power, no wisdom; But I will boast in Jesus Christ,His death and resurrection. Why should I gain from his reward?I cannot give an answer; But this I know with all my heart—His wounds have paid my ransom.
