Pune India – World Trade Center Pune (WTC-P) inked Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Pune Customs House

Agents’ Association (PCHAA) to establish Pune as business friendly destination for multi-national corporates.

PCHAA and its 100+ members along with Indian Customs Authorities, led by Commissioner Mr. V. Seshagiri Rao are

striving to enhance and facilitate Import-Export clearances. This will help importers and exporters to avoid congestion and

cost at gateway ports and Air Cargo Complex in Mumbai.

According to Mr. Vinod Sharma, President-PCHAA and Mr. Rajdeepak Bhargava, Founder-President WTC Pune will be a

great catalyst in foreign trade by supporting PCHAA motto of “Clear-In-Pune”.

Pune is the industrial epicenter and has attracted major manufacturing plants, additional investments like Mercedes-

Benz, GM, Volkswagen, Jaguar, Land Rover-TATA, FIAT, etc. Pune is home to some of the largest IT - ITeS badges including

Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, TCS, and also KPO – BPO engineering design centers - service providers. Some

of the largest back-offices operating out of Pune include MAERSK, Deutsche Bank, Citibank, IBM, etc. “Skilled and trained

manpower to support massive business growth has greater significance,” feels Mr. Sagar Chordia, Director WTC-P.

Resonating WTCA perspective on training and education, WTC Pune also tied up with US based International Supply Chain

Education Alliance and SCNext recently. MOU supports Total Supply Chain Knowledge through Education, Certification

and Recognition. Mr. Lalith DeSilva, CEO ISCEA, USA opined that India presents a great opportunities as it spends above

14% of its GDP in Supply Chain and Logistics compared to < 8% achieved by advanced countries.

ISCEA is the developer of internationally recognized certification programs of Certified Supply Chain Analyst (CSCA),

Certified Supply Chain Manager (CSCM) and Certified Lean Master (CLM). Advanced training in Demand Driven Planning

(DDP) is a novel concept finding global acceptance and is relevant to India too.

WTC Pune will soon initiate a series of Business Advisory Clinics and Certification Programs.
